🐾 Homemade Happy Paws Peanut Butter Treats! 🐾
Want to spoil your furry best friend with a delicious and healthy snack? Look no further! These easy-to-make Peanut Butter Dog Treats are a huge hit with all our Duty Dogs (and we bet your pups will love them too!). They're made with simple ingredients you probably already have at home.
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for grain-free!)
1/2 cup unsweetened peanut butter (xylitol-free is essential!)
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup water (add more if needed)
1 egg (optional, for binding)
Instructions:
Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix: In a large bowl, combine the flour, peanut butter, applesauce, water, and egg (if using). Mix until a firm dough forms. If it's too dry, add a tiny bit more water; if too sticky, add a little more flour.
Roll & Cut: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter (bone shapes are fun!) or a knife to cut out your treats.
Bake: Place the treats on your prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown and firm.
Cool & Serve: Let them cool completely on a wire rack before serving to your eager pup! Store in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
Important Note: Always ensure your peanut butter is XYLITOL-FREE, as xylitol is highly toxic to dogs!
