We are excited to introduce Dr. Nakai Griffin! Dr. Griffin has been with us multiple times over the years while she was in vet school and we are thrilled that she wanted to come "home!"

Dr. Nakai Griffin is a proud native of Huntsville, AL and a two-time graduate of Tuskegee University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal and Veterinary Science in 2022 and, as an early admittee into the College of Veterinary Medicine, continued to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2025.

Dr. Griffin’s special medical interests include small animal surgery and internal medicine, and exotic animal medicine; however, she continues to be fascinated by all aspects of veterinary medicine. Dr. Griffin is also an advocate for client education and the improvement of mental health resources and conditions for veterinary students/professionals.

In her free time, Dr. Griffin enjoys dancing, binge-watching sitcoms, and sitting on the porch with a good book.

Dr. Griffin is eager to come back to RCVH and pour what she’s learned back into her beloved Huntsville/Madison community!

Please share!

We are looking for homes for 7 cats that came into our care for conditions beyond their control. Their previous owner became completely overwhelmed with their care and almost lost a couple due to severe flea anemia. We have worked with him to reduce the number from 12 to 2, which will be easier for him to care for.

We now have 7 cats in our care that need new loving homes. Please share and give us a call if you would like to meet or adopt any of these AMAZING cats.

1. Mickey - 5 year old neutered male, 25lb big boy. He is recovering from a flea infestation but other than being 8 to 10 pounds overweight, he appears healthy. He enjoyed his bath and loves scratches. He is such a loveable potato! He is FIV/FeLV negative, UTD on vaccines, and currently on Revolution Plus.

2. Willie - 5 year old spayed female. Willie came into our care with a significant flea infestation, wounds, and a chronic eye injury/infection. We have treated her fleas, given her a bath, and removed the problematic eye. Willie is recovering from her eye surgery and is a little nervous but such a sweet girl. She is FIV/FeLV negative, UTD on vaccines, and currently on Revolution Plus.

3. Andy - 5 year old neutered male. Andy has such a loving personality and loves to pick up his paw at you. He was also treated for a flea infestation. He would make an amazing cat for any family. He is FIV/FeLV negative, UTD on vaccines, and currently on Revolution Plus.

4. Lola - 5 year old spayed female. Lola is nervous but you can tell she wants attention and love. She had a severe flea infestation and was treated for this. She is FIV/FeLV negative, UTD on vaccines, and currently on Revolution Plus.

5. Lilly - 5 year old spayed female. Lilly came in with SEVERE flea allergy dermatitis and infestation. She has lost most of her fur or the hair is broken in other spots. She is so sweet and loving. She is definitely the most attention seeking of the group. She is being treated for her skin infections. She is FIV/FeLV negative, UTD on vaccines, and currently on Revolution Plus.

6. Rocky - 7 year old neutered male. Rocky is terrified of being at the clinic but is a very sweet boy. He was also covered in fleas and was treated. We believe his personality will bloom more when he's not in the clinic setting. He is FIV/FeLV negative, UTD on vaccines, and currently on Revolution Plus.

7. Apollo - 17 year old neutered male. Apollo is the absolute sweetest old man. He has no teeth and is deaf. His flea anemia was very bad but he is recovering well. He was one of the most severely affected by the flea infestation. We have treated this and he is doing well. Apollo will need a family that understands the issues with older cats. Apollo has chronic renal disease but is on treatment now and we believe he can do well for a while. He is FIV/FeLV negative, UTD on vaccines, and currently on Revolution Plus.

All of the cats with the exception of Lilly are overweight and will need to lose some weight. A few of them have crinkled ears from previous ear infections. All cats were also treated for ear mites.

All of these cats were very much loved and it was a tough situation that this older gentleman found himself in. He did the right thing and accepted our help to find them all new loving homes. He will greatly miss them all but knows it's the best thing for them.

Please give us a call at 256-333-2345 if you or someone you know would like to open your hearts and homes to these amazing cats. We are also interested if anyone would like to help foster them to allow them time out of the clinic.

Their adoption fee is $100.

We want to welcome Dr. Brooke Dyar to the Rocket City Veterinary Services family!

ETA: We are all overwhelmed by our amazing clients sharing their experiences with us! It's been humbling to see of our oldest and newest clients giving testimonies of the amazing work and care my staff provides!

Good evening valued clients! We, unfortunately, are the victims of a smear campaign due to a disgruntled client because we defended our ethics, our doctor, and didn't give in to bullying. They are having their friends and family leave 1-star reviews on our Google. He did tell me that he would do this if he wasn't given an unwarranted discount and he would try to destroy my business since he knew how negative reviews could affect a business.

If you have had a positive experience with our hospital and have the time, would you kindly leave us a review on our Google page to drown out the negativity that this previous client is bringing to my wonderful and hardworking staff and business?
