Summer is starting to heat up! Here are a few tips for keeping your furry friends safe this season. 🐾☀️🌴
1. If it is hot to you, it's even hotter for your pet. Limit your walks and hikes to the cooler mornings and evenings, and make sure they always have access to fresh water. Know that asphalt may become hot enough to burn paws!
2. Never leave your pet in a car. Even if the temperature isn't extreme, cars can quickly heat up to dangerous temperatures.
3. Know how to recognize heat stress: symptoms like anxiousness, excessive panting, restlessness, excessive drooling, unsteadiness, abnormal gum and tongue color, and collapse may require immediate medical care.
