F.H. King Students for Sustainable Agriculture

Through our growing space in Eagle Heights, we strive to educate the UW community about the relationship between people, land, and food.

We offer numerous learning experiences, from workshops to daily garden hours in the summer. We also hand out free produce during the summer! Dates and times for 2021 coming soon.

We have more events for H**p Week! Join us on Monday April 18th at 6 pm for a H**p Seed Butter Workshop in the Student Activity Center room 3129. Come to learn how to make butter from h**p seeds!

Also, to round out the week, we will be holding a full club meeting on Wednesday 4/20 in the Student Activity Center room 3129 at 5:30 pm! Come to get updates on club events and learn about or meet with committees in F.H. King! Hope to see y'all at these awesome events!

Join Wunk Sheek & FH King, on Tuesday April 19th at 7:45 pm at Neighborhood House for a potluck. lecture, and Q&A with Rob Pero, founder of Canndigenous and proud member of the Bad River tribe! Pero will be discussing the relationship between indigenous sovereignty, sustainable agriculture, and h**p apothecary! Bring your favorite dish and some friends!

H**p Week, an all new initiative from F.H. King, starts tomorrow! We will be having a variety of events on the various uses, legislature, and history of h**p this week in the lead up to 4/20! Join us next Thursday, March 31st at 7 p.m. in the upper community room of Neighborhood House (29 S Mills St) for a potluck dinner featuring a talk given on mental health in relation to sustainable agriculture! Bring your favorite dish and sample delicious food from other members, hope to see you all there!

Spring is here! To kick of this season of new growth, we will be celebrating by holding a Potpourri making workshop on March 29th at 6 p.m. in the Student Activity Center room 3129. Potpourri is a fragrant collection of dried flowers that is often used to freshen the smell of rooms. Come join us to make your own and write affirmations to cultivate good energy this Spring. Excited to see you there!

Join us on Tuesday, February 22nd at 5:30 p.m. in the Student Activity Center (SAC), room 3129, to watch a documentary on Fannie Lou Hamer! FLH was a black sharecropper and activist who worked for voting rights in the civil rights era. Join us to learn more about her and her legacy!

Join us this Thursday, February 17th at 5:30 p.m. in the Student Activity Center (SAC) room 3129 for a Stop Line 5 Valentine's Event! We will be writing love letters to the water and crafting written comments to send to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to speak out against line 5. We love our water sources and would love for you to join us in expressing this through action! Bring a friend, someone you love, or just yourself, excited to see you there!
