With July 4 right around the corner we would like to share some tips to help keep your pets safe this holiday!
1. Have your pet Microchipped if at all possible! This is one of the best ways to get your pet back should it be turned into the shelter or a veterinary clinic.
2. Be sure that your pet has a collar with an ID tag or name plate that has your current contact information on it.
3. Write your address and phone number on their belly with permanent marker (you may also be able to write this on their collar with permanent marker).
4. Take your pets to potty before dark so they can be inside during the fireworks. If they have to go out during the fireworks make sure their collars fit appropriately and are not so loose so that they can slip their heads out and run.
If you do not have a collar, harness, ID tag, or leash for your pet please contact us. We have collars, harnesses, and leashes that have been donated that we offer for free to anyone that needs one (until we run out) and we can also give you a temporary ID tag to get you through the holiday if you don’t have one. Feel free to reach out to us if you have such a need. Everyone have a safe and happy 4th!!
