🐾 Meet Shaia! 🐾

Shaia is a 16-week-old Lab/Collie mix currently enrolled in a Board & Train program focused on basic puppy training and confidence building.

When Shaia’s mom rescued her, she quickly realized that this sweet little puppy was struggling with confidence. After only three weeks together, she made the decision to get help because she knew that without proper guidance, confidence-building, and exposure, Shaia could be headed toward a life of fear and uncertainty.

She wanted no such thing for her puppy.

She knew Shaia had so much potential.

So she called Nose, Eyes, Ears Dog Training.

Since arriving, Shaia has been absolutely thriving.

She is learning all of her basic puppy skills while building what I can only describe as skyscrapers worth of confidence. Watching her transformation has been incredible.

Today, Shaia:
🐶 Loves playing with the other dogs
🐶 Enjoys her daily walks
🐶 Is becoming more curious and adventurous every day
🐶 Cannot stay out of the water if given the opportunity!

One of my favorite parts of her program has been watching her weekly visits with her mom. Each week, Shaia becomes more excited to explore new places, investigate new environments, and take on new challenges that would have felt overwhelming just a short time ago.

She heads home in just one week.

We are going to miss this sweet girl, but we know she is heading home with a strong foundation and, most importantly, a mom who is equipped with the knowledge, skills, and dedication needed to continue building on all of the progress Shaia has made.

Keep up the amazing work, Shaia! We can’t wait to see all the great things you accomplish next. ❤️🐾

🐾 Meet Karma – Looking for Her Forever Home! 🐾

Karma is a 2.5-year-old Boxer mix who recently came into my care after being surrendered because her previous owner did not have the time to commit to the training and structure she needed.

Since arriving, Karma has absolutely thrived.

Over the past few weeks, she has been working hard on:
✔️ Leash walking
✔️ Neutrality around distractions
✔️ Impulse control
✔️ Calmness and structure
✔️ Living peacefully around other animals

Karma is a loving, playful girl who:
❤️ Loves people
❤️ Gets along well with other dogs
❤️ Has even learned to be neutral around my cats

While we believe she could potentially live with cats in the right home, proper introductions and management would still be important.

Karma would do best with children 10 years and older. She is a sweet dog, but she can get excited and, due to her size, could accidentally knock over or overwhelm smaller children.

She is an active young dog who will need:
🐶 Daily exercise
🐶 Structure and boundaries
🐶 Continued training and consistency

The good news? I am committed to helping her succeed. Her adopter will receive ongoing guidance and support to continue the training she has already started.

We are not in a rush to place Karma. She is safe, happy, and doing well. We are simply waiting for the right family to come along.

If you are interested in learning more about Karma or hearing her full story, send me a message. I would be happy to talk with you and see if she might be the right fit for your family.

Please share to help Karma find the forever home she deserves! ❤️🐾

🐾 Thoughtful Thursday 🐾

A lot of dog training is simply learning when to:
➡️ Slow down
➡️ Stay calm
➡️ Follow through

Most dogs are not trying to be “bad.”
They’re usually:

* Overstimulated
* Confused
* Under-challenged
* Or unsure of what’s expected of them

Dogs thrive when life becomes predictable.

Clear rules.
Clear boundaries.
Clear communication.

One of the biggest mindset shifts owners can make is understanding that:
❌ Constant excitement does not create a balanced dog.

Calmness is a skill.
Relaxation is a skill.
Neutrality is a skill.

And like any skill… it takes practice.

Today, try rewarding your dog for doing absolutely nothing:
✔️ Laying calmly
✔️ Watching the world quietly
✔️ Relaxing in their bed
✔️ Existing without reacting

Those moments matter more than most people realize 💪🐶

🐾 Monday Pack Walks 🐾

One of the best ways to help dogs build:
✔️ Confidence
✔️ Neutrality
✔️ Calmness
✔️ Better leash skills

…is through structured pack walks.

Pack walks are not about dogs playing together or interacting nonstop. The goal is actually the opposite — learning how to exist calmly around other dogs, people, sounds, and distractions without needing to react to everything.

Dogs naturally learn a lot from movement, structure, and following a calm leader.

During pack walks we focus on:
➡️ Structured leash walking
➡️ Following guidance
➡️ Staying calm around distractions
➡️ Practicing neutrality
➡️ Draining mental and physical energy

A tired dog is helpful…
But a mentally fulfilled and balanced dog is even better 💪🐶

One of my favorite things about pack walks is watching nervous or reactive dogs slowly realize:
“They don’t have to worry about everything.”

That’s where real progress starts.

🐾 Friday Reminder 🐾

Your dog does not need to be exhausted from chaos…
They need to be fulfilled through structure.

There’s a big difference.

A dog that spends all day:
• Barking at windows
• Running fence lines
• Pulling on walks
• Constantly overstimulated

…is usually not fulfilled. They’re overwhelmed.

Real fulfillment comes from:
✔️ Structured walks
✔️ Clear guidance
✔️ Mental challenges
✔️ Calm follow-through
✔️ Learning how to relax

The goal isn’t just a tired dog.
The goal is a balanced dog.

Heading into the weekend, try this:
➡️ Take your dog on a structured walk
➡️ Practice 5–10 minutes of obedience
➡️ Then ask them to settle and do nothing

That balance between challenge and calmness is where the magic happens 💪🐶

🐾 Feature Friday 🐾

This week has been all about progress over perfection.

Every dog in training right now is working through something different:
• Learning to stay calm in new places
• Building better leash habits
• Practicing impulse control
• Figuring out how to just relax

And the biggest takeaway?

👉 The small wins matter.

The calm walk.
The quiet moment.
The decision not to react.

Those are the things that build a well-behaved dog over time.

If your dog is a “work in progress”… that’s a good thing.
It means you’re putting in the time and doing the work.

Heading into the weekend, keep it simple:
➡️ Get your dog out for a structured walk
➡️ Practice a few basic commands
➡️ Then let them settle and relax

That balance is where real change happens.

Happy Friday 🐶💛

🐾 Training Thought Thursday 🐾

Your dog doesn’t need more commands… they need more clarity.

A lot of people try to fix behavior by adding:
• More commands
• More words
• More repetition

But if the dog doesn’t clearly understand the rules, adding more won’t help.

What actually makes the difference:
✔️ Clear expectations
✔️ Consistent follow-through
✔️ Calm, confident guidance

For example:
If your dog is barking, jumping, or pulling…

It’s not because they don’t “know better” —
It’s because the expectation isn’t being held consistently.

Dogs learn through patterns:
➡️ This works
➡️ This doesn’t

The clearer you are, the calmer your dog becomes.

Keep it simple today:
Say less.
Follow through more.

🐾 Meet Nellie! 🐾

This little cutie is Nellie — a 15 week old Cavapoo puppy currently here for her Board & Train program!

Nellie is working on:
• All of her basic commands
• Leash walking
• Manners and boundaries

Because she is a smaller dog, this training is especially important. Skills like:
➡️ Not jumping
➡️ Staying calm around guests
➡️ Respecting boundaries

…can easily be overlooked with small dogs, but they make a huge difference in everyday life.

Small dogs deserve (and need) the same level of training, mental stimulation, and physical exercise as big dogs — they are all dogs at the end of the day.

Nellie is already doing an amazing job learning her new skills and settling into her routine. I’m excited to watch her continue to grow over the next couple of weeks!

Stay tuned for her progress 🐶💛
