I have noticed a theme this week... It always amazes me how many riders feel hesitant or even afraid to talk to their trainer!

Open communication is so important! Not just for progress, but for building a reliable, trusting relationship. As a trainer and instructor, I believe that it is not only my responsibility, but my expectation, to create an environment that feels welcoming, supportive, and approachable, to horses and humans alike.

At the end of the day, growth for both horse and rider cannot happen in a space that doesn’t feel healthy or encouraging.

The best partnerships are built on honesty, respect, and the ability to have authentic and mature conversations🤍

Back to basics after this ride, but sharing a few stills from his last “hard” day about a week ago 💕

He’s still getting his fitness back, but I was really happy to touch on a little passage, piaffe, extended trot, and canter half-pass to working pirouette. This winter hasn’t made consistency easy, but he always shows up ready to try and gives his best every ride.🥰

So grateful for this guy. At 18 years old, with minimal maintenance, he’s truly something special. Very much looking forward to warmer days ahead, but thankful for every ride we get together!🐴✨

Congratulations, Keira, on the half lease of Henry!

I am truly thrilled for her and so excited to watch this partnership grow. Henry is an incredibly special horse with so much to offer, and it means a great deal to see him matched with someone who will appreciate and learn so much from him. Her kind hearted nature and willingness to learn truly makes this such a wonderful fit. I have no doubt that the two of you will thoroughly enjoy each other!

Low quality pictures of a high quality horse😍

Henry has blown every expectation I have ever had for him, completely out of the water. I wanted to get a quick look at how his shoulder & haunches-in were developing, and I was absolutely shocked at how good he actually looked!

I picked this horse up from my local SPCA for my husband, only knowing that he was a safe, sweet, western gelding, incapable of bending right. I never had high expectations for him, but as he became suppler, he continued to show me that he was capable of more and more. I'm so excited to continue developing him as much as he would like to be. he has already shown me that he is capable of touching third level if I continue to work at it.

He is in dressage boot camp this winter, and will hopefully get out to a few educational events or schooling shows this spring, after getting him back over fences. He genuinely enjoys working for *his* person, and I am so grateful for his trust.❤️

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of my friends, students, clients, supporters, family- and of course, the horses! 🎄🐎

This season has me feeling incredibly grateful. I’m so thankful to do what I love every single day, and even more thankful for the people and horses who make it all possible. The support, trust, kindness, and encouragement I’ve received this year truly mean more than words.❤️

The holidays are such a good reminder to slow down, give a little extra grace, lend a hand where you can, and appreciate the small moments that often matter the most. Whether it’s time, kindness, patience, or support; giving looks different for everyone, and it all counts.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, safe, and joyful holiday filled with warmth, love, and meaningful moments. I truly couldn't do this without you all✨

Making the most of winter up north ❄️
It was super snowy today and absolutely gorgeous, so we took advantage of the pretty backdrop — and the most handsome creature — for some photos.

We played in the snow together, and he cracks me up. Moments like this are a reminder to find pleasure in the little things — it doesn’t always have to be all work, all the time. Remembering why we do what we do, and how the horse makes it all worth it 🤍🐴

I’m excited to share that I’ll now be offering virtual lessons and trailer-in lessons and training this season!

I’ve found virtual lessons to be a great way to make quality instruction more accessible — more availability, lower cost, and the same focus on thoughtful, confidence-building horsemanship.

I truly love helping horses and riders find harmony, clarity, and that feel-good partnership. I teach Dressage through 3rd Level, Eventing, Jumpers, and Equitation.

If you’re curious about virtual lessons, send me a message — or let me know if you’d like to switch to a virtual option.

Virtual lessons start at $65 for 1 hour
(Compared to my in-person lessons, which run about 45 minutes + cost of mileage)

🚛 *Trailer-ins* will also be available at my new location on the Durham/Newmarket town line beginning December 9th.
