A confirmed rabies-positive fox has been reported in Griffin after attacking a family dog.

‼️Rabies is 100% preventable through vaccination, which is why rabies vaccines are required by law and by our hospital. Keeping your pet current on rabies protection helps safeguard your family, your pet, and our community.‼️

☀️ Georgia temperatures are rising, and so is the risk of heat stroke in pets! 🐾

• Please remember to limit outside time, especially when temperatures are over 80°
• Always make sure pets have access to plenty of fresh water and a shaded, cool area to rest
• Senior pets, pets that are sick or have chronic illnesses, and brachycephalic (flat-faced/short-nosed) dogs & cats are especially at risk and should only be outside for quick bathroom breaks while being monitored closely

Heat stroke can happen fast! If your pet seems excessively panting, weak, drooling, vomiting, or unable to cool down, seek veterinary care immediately.

Stay safe and keep those furry family members cool this summer! 🐶🐱
