So... I as you may know, I had a puppy from our Dec 9th 2016 litter (Moses, Judge, Scout, Major, Lady, Maska and the Baby). Baby (the runt) was returned. He was adopted by an older couple who could not handle him and instead of bringing him back at a much earlier age they brought him back once for some training at 8 months old where he healed perfectly for me with about 3 minutes of training. After that I heard nothing more other then me calling about a month later to see how he was doing.
Then in early Nov I am contacted when the owner drives up and says he's giving him back to me... two days later I go and pick him up and he can't wait to come to me and get the he'll out of there.
I now realize he was never walked and mostly kept in a kennel crate so he didn't "bug" the owners!!!
After a couple months here he is a loving VERY big puppy who needs a lot of attention. He is not properly socialized with other dogs and needs work.. he is not aggressive, he just does not know or understand dog social behavior yet.
He is very gentle and loving with those he knows... BUT, will take the head off those he doesn't when protecting his own property but is sociable to people off property.
Would be one Hell of a guard or police dog and has no fear or reaction to loud bangs including fireworks!
Problem is I have 4 other large GSDs and can not give the time and attention he needs to be the best dog he can be... and even though I would love to keep him as he is the son of my beloved Geronimo, who died last year, I need to do what's better for him rather then trying to get him to just fit in here... he needs the best and most loving home and he will be a great dog...
So I am not asking for any money.. I am asking for a very loving home who knows positive reinforcement training or is will and prepared to get a professional trainer who uses positive reinforcement training technics.
As a puppy he was the runt and picked on by the bigger puppies who on one day got so rough tore the tendon from the left ear to the head so his left ear doesn't stand up as straight as it could... He is no longer the runt.. rather he is the biggest and when grown into hos frame will be well over 100lbs on the thin side.
If you or someone you know has a 100% fenced yard, has had a GSD before, can handle a huge untrained dog (he is house broken), will allow a home inspection, has a few hours a day of solid one on one time with him and will let me keep up on his well being, then let me know and we can do an intro and see if I can find my big puppy a home.
