Wandi is here from for Ear Fluff Friday, although she would have been a shoe-in for Whiskers Wednesday as well. We were torn! But Ear Fluff Friday won out, and you can see why!

A recent mom, Wandi is 4 years old. Receiving her spay and vaccines meant she was all ready for a home where she can just be a cat, free from worries about kittens and the toll that repeated heats and pregnancies take on a girl's body!

Kitten season means Big Boy pics can be a little harder to come by. Oh no! We're seeing dozens of kittens and their moms for their snips, all lucky kitties who won't be a part of the feline overpopulation problem. That means we may have to look back through our photos to find those Big Boys faces we all love. And sometimes we find a guy who truly deserves his place in the Big Boy ranks!

Captain Kid is a community cat who visited us back in April from Woodinville for his neuter and vaccines. He was 2½ years old and weighed 13.1 pounds! And now that he has his snip, he's a lucky kitty too, with a healthier and more relaxed life ahead of him.

Craig is all about Whiskers Wednesday! This 3-month-old girl visited us last week from Seattle for her spay and vaccines along with her siblings, Tubby, Lotto, and Rollo.

For a spay and neuter clinic like us, the best thing about kitten season isn't getting to see all the cute faces (although that is pretty amazing). Instead, it's knowing that kittens like this will never know the hardships of repeated reproduction and hormonal stress. And every snip is a step towards the goal of someday making kitten season less overwhelming and more of a joy!

These are the big blue eyes of a lucky boy! Adorable lynx-point community cat Smudge visited us for his neuter just about a month ago from Rose Animal Rescue.

While he was at our clinic for his snip, he also received his FVRCP and rabies vaccines and flea treatment. We may be the only a vet a cat ever sees, so we do everything we can to send them off to a healthier and less stressful life!

Reaching back into our archives (April) for this Monday face! Despite her opinions that day, Pamni is now a happier, healthier kitty after receiving her spay, FVRCP vaccine, and microchip.

This little gal with her milk-splash nose was accompanied by her sister Scrat and other siblings Gwen, Conan, and Jax as well. Worried mom Mimi also visited us that day, getting her own spay and keeping an eye on things.

This lovely litter came to us courtesy of volunteer Alourah with our Renton clinic/collaboration with South County Cats!

Tomorrow is International Hug Your Cat Day! Theo, who visited us in April from Mill Creek, WA, for his neuter and rabies vaccine, is a pet kitty, so he might be a huggable guy. But not every cat is okay with physical affection, and we always caution you against hugging random ferals!

Of course, a great way to encourage those standoffish community cats to warm up to you is—you guessed it—spay and neuter! Boy cats are more peaceful and relaxed once they get their snips, and girl cats are more chill when they're not going into heat or worried about their kittens. Just something to keep in mind!

He's large and in charge, he's adorable, and he's orange! What more could you ask for on Big Boy Thursday?

Thomas is a community cat who visited us earlier this month from Arlington, WA, for his neuter and vaccines. He's 2½ years old and weighs 13.15 pounds!

What he loses in cheeks as his testosterone levels decrease, he'll gain in good living. He'll be less likely to roam and seek out fights, and he won't add to the feral kitten population. And we're sure he will be just as cute then too!

What do you get when you cross a tortie with a Siamese? An adorable tortiepoint face like Claire's, that's what!

Claire and her crossed eyes visited us from Red Rose Animal Rescue at the end of April. This recent mom received her spay and vaccines, as well as the assurance that never again will she go into heat or have to take care of kittens!

We're back from our Memorial Day break and ready to resume the spays and neuters to benefit cats like "1," a community cat from Lynnwood. He received his neuter and vaccines from us earlier this month.

1 is about 9 months old, so luckily he's now prevented from fathering a lifetime's worth of kittens. And he may not realize it, but he's also going to have a safer and healthier life, freed from the hormonal pressure to roam and seek out fights!

Happy Memorial Day! With the unofficial start of summer now here, here are a few warm-weather cat safety tips to keep in mind:

Make sure your pets always have fresh, clean water available.

Many human treats pose dangers to our feline friends. It's easier just to keep them on their normal diets to avoid the risks of stomach upset and even poisoning.

Keep unscreened windows closed, or if you do open them, make sure your cat can't fit through the gap. And depending on your cat, this can apply to screened windows as well. You may not expect your kitty to pop the screen out and go on the lam, but it happens! And cats do sustain injuries from falls, despite their reputation for landing on their feet.

We encourage you and your cat(s) to be safe this summer—you will honestly have more fun!
