Marley decided he wanted attention tonight. We’ve been on vacation and my sister took care of all my critters but as she isn’t a reptile person they didn’t get a lot of interaction but were very well cared for.

Just a little information for your education

I Tap the Ground With My Nose… Because I’m Investigating.

You see me lower my head…
tap the ground…
pause for a second…

and you think I’m being weird.

But I’m not.

I’m reading everything around me.

Every surface I touch
holds a story you can’t see.

A scent.
A trace.
A message left behind.

So I press my nose down…
then flick my tongue

and suddenly, the invisible becomes clear.

Who’s been here.
What moved through this space.
Where food might be.
What I should avoid.

You use your eyes.

I use something deeper.

Something older.

Because in my world,
survival isn’t just about seeing…

It’s about sensing.

So no
I’m not randomly tapping the ground.

I’m investigating.

I’m learning.

I’m staying alive.

Love is in the air! Chonk and snow are paired up along with Henry (who is a big again) and Lemon. In the Crested Room Ghost and Hera have been paired up so hopefully in the next couple weeks we will see some eggs!

This is amazing!! I can’t believe how little they’ve changed in 50 million years!

This is an exceptionally preserved gecko trapped inside 50-million-year-old baltic amber. 🦎

Shall we let it out? 😅

Called Yantarogekko balticus, this gecko is around 50 million years old and comes from north-western Russia. It was described in 2005. The close-up shows part of the hand.
