Grooming is about so much more than a bath or a haircut. It’s about building a relationship with the pet you’re working with. It’s about leading and interacting with calm energy, consistency and confidence. Then when the dog is feeling insecure or triggered, they look to you for comfort and guidance instead of switching into fight or flight mode. This is Happy. He used to be not-so-happy about the grooming process. He has some physical issues with his back legs that make him extra sensitive. Through mutual respect and a soft touch, Happy is now happy to get a good grooming session in.
