The horse show season is off to a fantastic start. The Forget Me Not Team was busy attending the SWVHJA Benefit Show, Trimble’s Ridge, and Star City during the month of March. Everyone rode well and came home with many top ribbons.

Forget Me Not attended the Trimble’s Ridge horse show this past weekend at the Virginia Horse Center, some highlights and results are as follows…
Rylie Roeglin and Dennis the Menace earned Reserve Champion in the Long stirrup equitation division with a 1st and 2 second place ribbons. This earned the pair Reserve Champion for the division. Champion in the pony pleasure division with a clean sweep of all three classes and Rylie was fourth in the Jr. equitation on the flat.

Addison Sorrells and Rainier were champion in the jr. Hunter pleasure division with a first and 2 second places. Their Special children’s hunter trips earned them 2 third places over fences and a first on the flat and a Reserve champion. Addison rode to a third place finish in Jr. equitation on the flat(15-17).

Mischa Biszick rode Addison Sorrell’s Rainier to a first, second and fourth place finish in the adult pleasure division with a reserve champion of the division. They were also 4th on the flat in the open hunters and 6th in one of her over fences trips in a very large, competitive division!

Chloe Hodges and her new partner, Constellation King, made their horse show debut together and earned a 4th and 5th in the jr Hunter pleasure division and. 3rd in jr equitation on the flat. What a great first show for this team!

And a special thanks to Victoria Riordan for all of her hard work and time she put in to helping Chloe with Atlas and helping to prepare him for the show ring! The fifth place ribbon out of 10 horses in the pleasure walk, trot, canter was well deserved!!

That’s a wrap of our 2024 summer here at Forget Me Not Farm! The season was full of horse shows and pony camp fun. We saw improvements in all of our riders.

Last weekend the Forget-me-not farm crew participated in the polar bear horse show at the Virginia horse center. Some highlights from the show, Ellie, Bachman, and Judah, earned a fourth Place ribbon in their debut in the pleasure hunters over fences. Judah and Ellie were also reserve champions in the adult pleasure flat division on Sunday. Addison Sorrells and Rainier were champion in the intermediate division and champion in the youth pleasure hunters on Sunday. Rylie Roeglin and her horse Deuce made their debut in the pleasure hunters over fences and earned a six Place ribbon out of 14 horses. Chloe Hodges. and Forget Me Not Farms, Carolina’s Punch, earned two thirds and a fourth place in beginner equitation. Congratulations to all!

This post has been a long time coming! The Forget Me Not team attended the 2023 SWVHJA banquet held last night at Wintergreen ski resort. To say that I am proud of these riders is an understatement. They each worked hard on personal goals, put in the hours at the barn riding in leasons, watching others ride, helping with chores when needed and just making sure that their horses were in the best shape mentally and physically they could be to compete. Congratulations to you all, you make me proud each and every day with your dedication to your horses and this sport!

A huge congratulations to everyone who attended the Goose Creek Horse Show at the Virginia Horse Center yesterday. Ellie Bachman and Judah earned an overall Reserve champion in the adult pleasure hunters, Chloe Hodges and Nouveau had great improvement and ribbons in the pre beginners and earned a Reserve champion in the pony pleasure hunters. Addison Sorrells and Rrasmodias earned two third place ribbons and a win on the flat in the intermediate hunters and a champion ribbon in the Jr. Pleasure Hunters. Ella Cummins and Carolina’s Punch earned the tri-color in the 2’ pleasure hunters. Logan Howard and Catuli had a great day, earning a fourth and two fifths in the thoroughbred Hunter division. Well done everyone!

The first Forget Me Not Farm “mini camp” was a huge success!!! The campers enjoyed fun filled days of riding, crafts, un-mounted lectures, farrier demonstrations, mounted and un-mounted games, pony painting, assisting with evening chores and enjoying lots of snacks! A huge thank you to Victoria Riordan, Addison Sorrells, Ella Cummins, Chloe Hodges and Landis Hoskins! Without this group of young ladies this couldn’t have been possible. I am grateful to have such a great group of juniors /young adults who are not only teachable and willing to learn but who see the importance of educating the next generation of riders and are willing to help do this! So proud of everyone this week😊

Forget Me Not Farm has 4 spaces available for our June 12-16 “mini camp”. This is for ages 9-12 and geared more toward campers who have never ridden or with very little riding experience. Camp times will be from 9:00-3:30.There will be mounted and un-mounted lessons, learning the basics of grooming (how and why), identifying parts of the horse, tack cleaning, bathing, general care of a barn and assisting with chores. We will provide water and an afternoon snack. You will be responsible for your child’s lunch. There will be coolers w/ ice available. Attire is a closed toe shoe,preferably a boot with a small heel, jeans or riding tights and a well fitted shirt(no baggie t-shirts, tank tops or crop tops)). We have several riding helmets here for the mounted sessions. Cost of the camp is $400. If interested or if you have any questions please contact Tamara @ 434-841-0389. These spots will be reserved on a first come basis. A deposit of $150 is required by 6/8/23.

A huge congratulations going out to Victoria Riordan and Addison Sorrells. Victoria and her partner, Feel the Thunder, had a very successful year, finishing first in a very competitive adult equitation division, fifth in the Adult Hunter pleasure division amd tenth in the thoroughbred hunters. Addison and her pony, Nouveau, captured the pre beginner championship! A special thanks to all who helped us get to this point! I couldn’t do this with out the support of family, friends and a really special barn family! Here’s to big things for 2023 at Forget Me Not Farm!

Four of our riders got to attend the Southwest Va Hunter Jumper Assn (SWVHJA) Clinic at Memory's Hill Stables. It was a great couple days filled with learning from Miranda Scott, Tom Brennan, Dale Crittemberger, and Drew Taylor. Thank you SWVHJA for this opportunity.
