I got to play fetch with Goliath today. 🥹❤️
A few months ago, that wouldn’t have seemed possible.
Sometimes all it takes is one tragic event in a dog’s past to change how they see the world. Fear can look like barking, lunging, pulling, or reacting to every person and dog that passes by.
When Goliath was first found roaming the streets, one of our amazing regulars helped bring him to safety. Even then, trust didn’t come easy. It took weeks for him to warm up to her. He barked at strangers, lunged at people walking by, and was strong enough to drag whoever held his leash.
That’s one of the reasons we open our dog wash after hours for reactive dogs. Every dog deserves access to basic care like baths, brushing, and blow-dries, even when the world feels overwhelming to them.
Today, I got to throw a ball for Goliath.
No barking at me. No lunging. No reacting to the kids practicing karate next door. Just a dog playing fetch and having fun.
A huge thank you to for helping Goliath learn that the world isn’t such a scary place. And an even bigger thank you to his rescuer, now adopter, for putting in the time, consistency, and hard work every single day.
Progress isn’t always measured in giant milestones. Sometimes it’s measured in a game of fetch. ❤️
