Debra grew up with dogs. Starting with Boxers, English Setters and
German Shepherd’s Working as an agitator for Security dog trainer
(Doberman’s and Shepherd’s) Debra’s natural found her quickly moving
up to be their top obedience trainer. At dog Shows she began showing
her own miniature Schnauzer. At the same time hunting her Springer
Spaniels. Debra began doing hunt tests with Labs. This beg
an her work
with many dogs labeled as Behavior problems by their owners and other
trainers. After a stint as a Police Officer Debra returned to the
world of dogs and had some of the first Akita’s imported into the US
when they were accepted by the AKC. She has been handling professional
since 1978. Recently one of her Bernese Mountain Dogs was in the top ten of the
breed for over 5 years. This was done without a backer for the dog or
advertising – “Zeus’ wins were purely on the quality of the dog and
Debra's ability to make him shine in the ring. Many of the Berners
Debra now has are related to him. Debra’s first Beagle, from a long
time Beagle breeder ‘Monty’ finished with 5 majors and cemented her
love for the breed. Her Berners and Beagles live together in her home
where she operates a Grooming shop, Boards, trains and works with
problem dogs privately. Besides handling all breeds, she has titled
many dogs in obedience hunt rally and drafting. It is this diverse
approach to dogs that allows Debra to ‘coach’ you toward your entry in
the ring with your ‘Show dog’.
