Thank you to Masie’s family for allowing us to be part of her final journey and for sharing these beautiful photos and heartfelt words in remembrance of their beloved pet. May her memory live on in every cherished moment, favorite story, and quiet reminder of the love she gave so freely.

“Masie was adopted into our family in December 2011. We got her from the pound. She was about 2.5 pounds. As a young dog, she loved playing fetch with balls, sticks, and frisbees. She could catch a frisbee 5 feet up in the air. She loved playing outside with her kids and was very protective of them. Masie was very smart and learned lots of tricks. She would do most anything for food/treats. Her favorite game to play was tug. She loved raw green beans. Even in her old age, she would try to sneak green beans off the plants in the garden. Masie was a wonderful dog and family member! We were very blessed to be her family!”

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest things a family can face. These moments are filled with love, reflection, and the kind of connection that never truly fades. Today, we are honored to share a glimpse into the life of a cherished companion whose memory will forever be carried in the hearts of those who loved her most.

Below is a snippet from her family…

“Polly had such a loving personality, she didn't meet a person she didn't love and want to play with. She always loved playing fetch with her toy balls, and ripping the squeakers out of every single squeaky toy we ever got her. She always seemed to feel so accomplished whenever she finally got the squeaker out of something!
She loved going for walks, and would get so excited when we said the word that we had to start spelling it out so we could get the leash without her jumping all over us in her excitement. Then she surprised us when she eventually figured out we were spelling out the word walk, and we thought she was so smart for learning how to spell. She HATED bath time, and would fight me tooth and nail every step of the way. Even going as far as to press herself up against the far side of the bathtub as if that would somehow save her from the water spraying out of the shower head. She was always compensated with treats for enduring such medieval methods of torture. She loved bananas, running around, sun bathing on the back deck in the summer, and playing with her little sister, Rosie. Those two were always thick as thieves, and Rosie misses her very much, like we all do. She gave the best kisses, the best cuddles, and could always cheer you up when you were sad or upset in any way. She was such a special dog, and she was so loved by so many people. She is very deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her ❤️”

It is a privilege to walk alongside families during some of life’s most tender goodbyes. Today, we pause to remember a very special soul whose life was filled with love, loyalty, and companionship. We are grateful for Wishes family for trusting us and for sharing her story, so that others may see just how meaningful a bond with a pet can be.

A snippet from her family…

“Wishes was the sweetest. Always curious, and the first to come snuggle up when you were feeling down. She had the best purrs that sounded like she was singing to you with little trills mixed in. She was so loved for the 16.5 years we were blessed enough to spend with her. Her favorite things were napping in the flowerbeds and under the Christmas tree. When my daughter was small, she loved to dress her up and drive her around in her little doll stroller. Wishes would happily ride around purring and never complain.”

Every life we are entrusted with tells a story. One filled with loyalty, love, and countless small moments that become everything. While goodbye is never the part anyone is ready for, it is often where love shows itself most powerfully.

We are grateful to have been able to provide a peaceful, in-home farewell for sweet Ducky. Below, his family shares a glimpse into the life that meant so much to them.

“He was a true blessing and a great companion. Loved by everyone he met. His favorite greeting toy was, of all things, a small duck. He is truly missed. This house has a giant hole in it. I've forgotten how much a family member pet fills your home.”

Rest easy, sweet boy ❤️

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”

“Kitty lived a long full life for 18 years with her loving family. Our small shy girl rarely greeted strangers but was inseparable from her favorite person. Her favorite hobbies involved stealing flip flops, batting the various plush creatures around the house, or following us wherever we were to supervise, investigate, and cuddle. Her gentle purrs were soft and quiet and she rarely made a sound except to greet us or demand her favorite snack of cheese or whipped cream which she would meow for loudly. Kitty was my best friend for all these long years and she will be so deeply missed.”

After a dog passes, the absence feels loud. You reach for the leash. You glance toward their bed. You still expect to see their tail wag when you walk through the door. Grief for a dog is real because the love was real.

From Captains family…

“Captain was a beautiful soul that we rescued when he was only a few months old. Captain loved swimming in the creek, long hikes through the woods, and of course playing catch. Once he got worn out, there was nothing like an afternoon nap with dad. Captain would stare out the window and have "conversations" with the wildlife, which were deep baritone melodies that never got old. He was the center of attention around bonfires, ran faster than a deer, and though he was the youngest, led his two older "siblings" on great, muddy adventures. It was a privilege and blessing to spend those 13 years with you Captain. Rest well, my best buddy.”

Below is a snippet in Cracker and his families lives…

“We are eternally grateful to Dr. Crystal McConnell of Lighthouse Euthanasia Services for helping us send our very beloved Golden Retriever, Cracker peacefully and lovingly over the Rainbow Bridge. It takes a very special person to assist with this travel and Dr. Crystal is this person. She sees people and animals on their very worst day, greeting them compassionately, continuing to kindly assure them during the whole process. We had the privilege of having Cracker in our lives for 14 way too short years. Our Cracker was the sweetest most lovable little clown you’d ever meet. He became fast friends with everyone who crossed his path. He was very intelligent and loved outwitting us for extra treats whenever possible. He loved playing ball, he would race to retrieve it when Michael would throw long distance ones for him and would get obsessed with getting his ball back when I would accidentally throw it up on the garage roof. He loved playing in the water and getting baths, but didn’t like being out in the rain. He had a funny way of calling to us, sounding like a chuff or huff sound at the beginning of a bark when he was ready for bed. He would entertain us constantly with his “Happy Dance”, that’s what we called him laying on his back and wriggling back and forth inside or outside, where he’d get very dirty. His first happy dance took place just a couple of weeks after we brought him home. It looked like he had a big smile on his face as he would dance away. Even though he was born and raised in a snowless climate ( he always loved it cooler) he discovered immediately how much he loved snow after we moved farther north. He added snow angles to his happy dance not wanting to come back in from the cold. Cracker loved spending time with Michael outside never leaving his side whether wresting or playing ball or just sitting quietly together. He had a stubborn side too, occasionally if asked to do something he wasn’t ready to do, he would look at you as if to say, I don’t really want to, but okay and begrudgingly comply. That was all part of his charm, it’s hard to get mad at a big old teddy bear with such a sweet face. He would always let me know what he was feeling and was sensitive to our feelings. Cracker was always more like a little boy than a Golden Retriever, he had such a unique way about him. We decided to adopt another Golden puppy so he could pick up some of Cracker’s traits. We affectionately nicknamed Cracker Grump-pa even though he had the patience of a saint with pup Charlie. They were very close, Charlie would even run to his Grump-pa when he’d get into trouble. Cracker would just look up at me after Charlie laid down beside him as if to ask, is there a problem here? Cracker also loved his cat sisters, one cat named Sweetie Todd was 6 months older than him and they would take naps together in the afternoon after we brought him home. Cracker shared his birthday with our daughter, albeit 22 years apart, she bought him his favorite toy, a blue bone that he happily carried around with him during the day, we buried it with him, so he could carry it over the rainbow bridge. I know Charlie misses him also I gave him another favorite chew bone of Crackers the day after, Charlie got all excited smelling the bone, starting to whine, carrying it off with him, it’s now his favorite toy. Our other cat Bella found the bone a few days later, smelled it and started rubbing her chin on it almost affectionately. We will all love and miss our Cracker forever, but cherish all our wonderful memories we had with him.”

A pet leaves behind more than an empty spot on the couch, they leave a space in our daily routine, in our hearts, and in the little moments we didn’t realize meant so much. Their absence is felt every day, and their presence is missed beyond words.

When we spoke with Luna’s owner, this is what they said…

“Luna was a rescue from animal control as a puppy. She loved car rides, walks in the dunes looking for snakes and she loved when Dad came home in the morning after night shift bringing sausage patties from Burger King. One of her favorite things were her stuffed animals she loved to snuggle and chew up. She will be in our hearts forever!❤️”

Today, we honor the life of a soul who asked for so little and gave so much. Shiloh wasn’t just a pet, he was family, a constant source of joy, comfort, and unconditional love.

When we spoke with with his owners, this is what they said…

“I rescued Shiloh March 2010. He was auctioned from a puppy mill and was taken in by Homeward Bound Animal Welfare in Indiana. He went on to become my service dog and traveled the nation and oversees. He also co-worked with me serving veterans with PTSD at the VA and at events. He had so much love that he would light up rooms and hearts.”

Run free, sweet pup 🐾🤍
