What are you thankful for?
There are many things I am thankful for, but today I’m thankful for something that goes way back to my childhood.
I am thankful for my parents for raising me the way they did—making sure I knew that patience will always be the best way to approach things. That hate, anger, and aggression aren’t the solution and should never be what drives me.
That a healthy ego is okay, and sometimes good to have, but to never get too ahead of myself or push things past my own beliefs.
I am thankful that my parents raised me with love—lots of it—and taught me to give people and animals the right to have a voice and a choice.
Today I am thankful to have a circle of people around me who believe in the same things. I am thankful for my parents and my family, who put up with my crazy life filled with even crazier ideas.
I am also incredibly thankful for all the friendships I have made thanks to horses—friendships built on shared passion, long days, hard work, and memories that only horse people truly understand.
I am thankful for my dad, who will always shake his head when I tell him “just one more horse,” but then will be the first to help come up with a name.
I am thankful for my mom, who will always, no matter what, have my back—and keep the “just one more horse” a secret for as long as needed.
I am thankful for my best friends, who never question a crazy idea of mine and will drive to the other side of the country with me to pick up a horse, even though they know it’ll be one heck of an exhausting trip.
I am thankful for , who I know I can ALWAYS count on to take over the fort while I’m on a rescue mission.
I am thankful for the life I get to live, thankful that I’m in the position to do what I do, and thankful for each and every horse I cross paths with.
There is so much more I’m thankful for, but that’s it for today…
What are you thankful for?
