A Message from Moving Mountains Ranch
We want to begin by thanking our incredible community for your love, your prayers, and your unwavering support. We know we’ve been silent these past few weeks, and we feel it’s time to share why.
Our family has suffered an unimaginable loss, one that has left us broken and breathless. Right now, we are simply surviving moment by moment, trying to stand in a valley deeper than anything we've ever walked through.
When we founded Moving Mountains Ranch, it was with the hope that this would be a place where families could heal, from trauma, from loss, from things they didn’t want to define them anymore. A place where people could find hope, joy, community, and above all, the healing love of Jesus. That mission hasn’t changed. But in this season, we are the ones in need of that healing.
We are exhausted. We are grieving. And right now, we don’t have the strength to pretend to be whole when we are shattered. So, with humility and honesty, we are stepping back for a short time to catch our breath, to mourn, to rest, and to allow God and our community to minister to us as we’ve tried to minister to others.
To everyone who has brought meals, sent cards, messaged us, prayed for us, cried with us, THANK YOU. You have truly washed our feet, just as Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. You have been the hands and feet of Christ to our family.
Even in this darkness, our faith is unshaken. We believe we will rise again, as a family and as a ministry. We will return to serving others, not in our own strength, but in His.
Over the past few months, we’ve had the honor of serving adults in recovery programs, families impacted by the foster care system, children at The Meadows, and youth through a magical partnership with the Pomerene Center for the Arts. We haven’t shared those moments publicly, not because they weren’t beautiful, but because we’ve never been about spotlighting ourselves. This nonprofit has never been about recognition or reward. We do not take from it , we give to it. Always. Because it’s never been about us. It’s about you. It’s about them. And it always will be.
Thank you, Coshocton County, for your love. Thank you for standing with us. We love you deeply and with time, we look forward to standing with you again.
With love and gratitude,
The Schmalzried Family
