📌 Groomingdales Pet Parlor in Lubbock, Texas
📌 Heather Rothwell The good dog gang, Lubbock Texas
Shared for educational, awareness, and advocacy purposes only.
What happens when I see people publicly supporting Heather Rothwell and everything tied to her past actions? I speak on it. Loudly. Because some things should never be buried or forgotten when animals paid the price.
Today in Lubbock, there was a house fire involving reports of dogs possibly trapped behind an abandoned home. In the comment sections discussing the situation, the owner of a Pet Parlor was publicly tagging Heather Rothwell and directing information toward her as if she should somehow be involved as “rescue help.” of course they would love her to get her hands on more dogs to bring business to the grooming shop. As if the enormous amount of first responders and the city ACO funded by tax payers couldn't handle the situation. I don't think they need Cruela Killwell aka Rothwell in the mix.
Heather Rothwell operated what was presented to the public as a rescue while receiving enormous public support and donations from people who genuinely believed they were helping save animals. Meanwhile, countless allegations, records, witness statements, and documented incidents painted a much darker picture involving mass euthanasia, neglect, deception, and financial exploitation under the guise of rescue work.
One of the most disturbing examples involved a litter of 12 puppies that were labeled “aggressive” despite officers reportedly documenting no signs of aggression. Those puppies already had another rescue on the way to reclaim them — reportedly only 12 minutes away. They were euthanized anyway. Rothwell and Caulk had a vacation to get too. Those puppies had been through so much in short lives including surviving parvo only to be deemed as tiny tiny puppies dangerous in need of euthanizing. Unfounded and baseless claims by a sick cruel desperate money hungry evil monster who was failing at her in home daycare business desperate to pay the mortgage. Using cute faces of innocent puppies to profit and ridding them like trash, literally sending them for a heart stick and burn pile.
As public records requests were obtained over time, the amount of documentation shocked many people in this community. Record after record allegedly showed several hundreds euthanized dogs, including mother dogs that had reportedly just produced litters while under Rothwell’s control and puppies, after she raked in the donations. In many cases, there were little to no clear explanations documented. Others were allegedly marked aggressive or dangerous based on claims that officers were expected to act upon. Sick and unhealthy, rather use the donations to provide vet care. Keep in mind there was also known exposures to fast spreading illnesses at both her home and her "fosters" homes as well as the shelter.
If you were around back then and remember the photos of crates stacked to the ceiling and bedrooms fully converted to hold the max amount of animals as possible. Knowingly allowing mother dogs to have litters in the same small bedrooms directly in cages next to them with also their own litters but also known parvo. Immediately exposing new litters the second they were born, knowingly! She also operated an in-home daycare without licensing but also under many other violations. In Texas you cannot operate a business or rescue having to do with stray animals on the same property much less the same rooms as daycare children. These dogs were apparently so dangerous she had them euthanized regularly yet she knowingly exposed them to other people's children daily. She also allowed hundreds of dogs to pass through as strays being let out to play and relieve themselves in the same backyard and same playground in which the daycare children also used. She euthanized her very own dog that was her pet for years because it was dog aggressive and she knew it could be a one dog only home and with her dog she would not be able to operate as an illegal rescue, choosing to euthanize her own dog.
There were also serious public concerns surrounding the relationship between Rothwell and former Lubbock Animal Shelter ACO Tommy Caulk, who was eventually terminated after public scrutiny intensified. Allegations included off-record euthanasia activity and improper use of authority connected to Rothwell’s operations. Questions were also raised for years about how an organization operating without proper nonprofit standing or legal rescue protections was able to pull, control, and cycle through such a massive number of animals while continuing to solicit donations from the public.
People donated believing they were funding rehabilitation, safety, medical care, and second chances. Instead, many believe they funded suffering, unnecessary euthanasia, and a revolving door animal operation disguised as charity.
I do not care how much time passes. I will never believe these animals should simply be forgotten so everyone involved can move on comfortably.
And yes — people absolutely have the right to question why members of the local pet industry would still publicly support or promote someone connected to years of allegations involving animal cruelty, neglect, deceptive fundraising, and profiting off animals under the disguise of “rescue.”
The public also has the right to ask how these business relationships benefit one another. Animals are reportedly collected in large numbers, donations are raised publicly, and animals are then rehomed for extremely high “adoption fees,” sometimes reaching hundreds to thousands of dollars depending on the breed. In a 24 hour period she picked up 3 large doodle dogs that had gotten out of the owners yard. Less than 24 hours of her catching and obtaining them she has them listed for $700 each. Not even giving a chance for an owner to come forward much less to truly know the health or needs of those dogs. Of course keep in mind all of them "had to be groomed" .
During that process, grooming services are paid for, receipts are used to justify elevated fees, and the cycle continues. Whether people call it “rescue” or not, many in this community see it as animal flipping for profit. Especially when her MO is to go after pregnant females and litters of puppies. Possible the grooming shop that supports her and helps guide her to collect animals and groom them of course would generate profits just as well. Of course in that case going to alert her to any dog she could possibly get her hands on.
Again, people can make their own judgments. But when choosing which businesses, rescues, or animal advocates to support in the local community, please do your research carefully. Verify organizations through official state and IRS nonprofit records, it can be done online on state and IRS website. Ask questions. Look into ethics, transparency, accountability, and whether the mission truly prioritizes animal welfare over money, attention, or volume.
Keep in mind legal legit rescues use the terms Foster, Adopt, Rescue. Unfortunately so do flippers, breeders, traders and backyard breeders. Just because they use such terms doesn't mean they are legit, ethical or safe.
Animals deserve better than exploitation disguised as compassion. It's literally a business and the more irresponsible pet owners out there the more people like this will have a job using helpless innocent animals. You can pay someone's daily life bills and vacations or you can actually contribute to real vet bills and needs of legit recuse and adopt from rescues that aren't in it for the fact of their bills being paid but in it to truly make a difference for the animals and community.
Keep your children and animals safe from Heather Rothwell and in that case anyone who is found to support her as well. Evil runs with evil. Know who you are supporting and are they a non profit rescue or a for profit business? In the state of Texas you are required to have a permit for animal sales and that includes those under the guise of "adoption" unless you have a 501c3 which stands in place of the permit.
Heather... Do you have a permit to sell all the dogs you are flipping? Did you suddenly become a federal legal 501c3?
Kristy... Is or would be grooming said dogs for her and supporting her as a known animal abuser and crook good for business?? Question
Make your choice wisely when choosing who to support. This is for educational awareness and advocacy purposes only.
Do not contact any involved party on my behalf as it is not requested. No threats or acts of violence are condoned or permitted by this page and page owners. Humans make their own choices and actions and I am not responsible for anyone other than myself. I do not encourage or condone any illegal actions.
Edit 4 most important...scratch all below...she claimed to not know Heather blah blah never knew anything about her situation and unethical actions. I have proven that to be a LIE. she is well aware of it all and very much knows Heather. In fact she groomed for Heather prior to the public call out and worldwide news media following the story, during the call out and still to this very day. Her business page has more with Heather in the last 3 years than it does anything. Gross. Busted! She's a full blown Rothewell supporter. Tried telling me she's not in groups doesn't know this that other of the community yet I found it odd she was tagging in such and interacting and in plenty as well as involved far more than she let on to be. Im happy to share our comminution to anyone who would like to see it and her bold face lies. Her page and all it has about Heather in itself speaks volumes and likely turned many away for that factor long long ago. Psshh got me once won't fool me a second time. Fact of matter and truth bottom line no slander... The pet parlor very much knows and is connected to Rothwell grooms for her for a long time now and she literally TODAY tagged her on posts in efforts to lead her to information about dogs supposedly in need of help. She was guiding her straight to the information so cruela could sn**ch up more innocent animals to bank off of and well be herself... Ms. killwell.
⭐Edit 1-
Kristy the owner of the g pet parlor has contacted me. I have been taking care of other personal matters unable to just jump to my inbox folks. I don't live online keep that in mind. None of us do.
Kristy has expressed to me that she is unaware of Heather's past, involving of evil and unethical practices. She hasn't stated why she tagged her exactly though claims to not know her and wishes to not have her business exposed for being associated with Rothwell. She claims she will no longer be associated with her moving forward. Truth is, she tagged her in a post in regards to the fire and dogs situation. Why? I don't know. Especially if she supposedly doesn't know anything about Heather or her past. I don't know about y'all but I don't just go tagging people I don't know into a situation involving such. However Kristy claims she was unaware and just tagged her. 🤷♀️ Again all make their own choices here. This is simply to bring awareness to a situation in which happened there for is not slander and is based on truths of the fact a local dog grooming salon owner tagged a known animal abuser.
Edit 2 - I will remove the SS of the local shops name that tagged her. You are welcome to message me for more information. I'm choosing to remove it as courtesy it doesn't change that it did in fact happen. It's again hard to believe someone local that is in a business surviving on the local pet community, pet owners and rescues wouldn't know about Rothwell. However Kristy the owner of the previously mentioned pet parlor maintains she was unaware of Heather's past otherwise wouldn't have tagged her in regards to the dogs in supposed need. I will not remove this post fully because it's done just what it was supposed to do... Bring awareness.
Edit 3- How anyone that lived in this town or has anything to do with an animal business, rescue or shelter in this entire panhandle and West Texas region during all of 2023 wouldn't be aware of this ordeal truly is beyond me. It literally made the news in other countries and was spread far and wide! How is it that so many in our own backyard are unaware. 🤦♀️ I'll forever and I mean forever bring reminders to the public of Heather Rothwell. It started with a personal issue involving the plant community leading me to discover the kind of person I was dealing with. The second she picked up her first ever stray animal I began raising red flags in every group possible, to the shelter, local and non local rescues. 3 years I didn't shut up and told every person I could just how evil she was, crooked and in it for money. Nobody wanted to listen until it was way too late. I didn't shut up then and I'll never shut up on the subject. Never! I've lost actual friends over it... I don't care! I'll never be able to bury it and forget about it when I hear or see her name all I Invision is piles and piles and piles of innocent dead dogs.
