2026 pairings off to a good start!

TSK Axanthic Spider x Pastel Calico Het TSK
YB DH TSK/Pied x YB DH TSK/Pied
Banana Black Pastel x Black Pastel (my favorite pairing tbh)

We won't be doing that many pairings in 2026. The goal is to produce a couple visual holdbacks from the Het pairings and some very pretty, low cost animals to be pets for new hobbyists. This has been my strategy for the last few years and it is working great so far!

Keeping and breeding animals can be a very rewarding hobby and I love getting to work with my animals daily! I think as an industry, we do an excellent job of highlighting the highs, but it's also important to be transparent about the failures and struggles we experience as keepers. Unfortunately, I found one of my 2025 holdbacks had passed a couple days ago as I was doing my morning tub checks. The thermostat I had on that rack failed overnight and without being regulated, the heat tape warmed to temps of 150+ for 10-12 hrs. The other 4 snakes in that rack took refuge in their water dishes and were unharmed, but one girl did not and passed due to hyperthermia. You can do everything right and these things will still happen sometimes. I donated her to another local reptile keeper to feed to a monitor so she would not go to waste. I'm saddened to lose an animal, but I'll learn from this and continue to care for my animals to the best of my abilities!
