Meet Dots and Sonic, these are Dr. Galvezs beloved cats . They appeared to have healthy teeth on visual oral exam, but once our technicians performed preventative oral radiographs we uncovered the early stages of otherwise undetectable periodontal disease. They are only 2 years old! Just like at the dentist for us, yearly radiographs help identify the beginnings of any problems.Most pets do not show signs of disease in the ways humans do. If pets are showing signs of chewing on one side, not eating or general lethargy periodontal disease is likely irreversible and will involve some intervention. Reach out to us if you have any questions or want to chat with on of our doctors!
