We thank you UP for Women and Children!

Did you know?

In 2024, UP for Women and Children welcomed 100 dogs and cats alongside their owners!

Many individuals experiencing homelessness avoid seeking services if they have a pet, but at UP, we believe no one should have to choose between support and their furry companion.

By welcoming animals, we ensure more people get the help they need.

We had a big surprise tonight to see Tony, the first person My Dog Eats First ever served! We first met Tony over 10 years ago in a parking lot on River Road where we first started handing out gallon bags of dog food. Tony was experiencing houselessness at the time and had a big pittie named Rocky. Rocky passed a couple of years ago and when Tony was ready to adopt a new doggie, he found Rusty at Louisville Metro Animal Services. Tony is the best dog dad and he and Rusty are safely off the streets now.

We love a story with an amazing ending. Remember sweet Tinky, who was left abandoned in his crate in the icy rain between two dumpsters? CRC Paws Cause rescued him and took him to be vetted. While he was at the vet's office for several days, this kind and newly retired woman visited him everyday. She adopted him and Tinky has a loving home. Tinky will continue care for his leg and foot issues. This was made possible because of your donations. Thank you!

Ready for some amazing news? Take a look at the cute little face that was under all that fur. Remember the little dog left out in the cold rain by the two dumpsters last week? Left out like discarded trash in a urine and f***s covered cage full of matted fur and an injured leg. Look at her now! Groomed and vetted and named Tinky. Thanks to CRC-Paws Cause and the generous donors of My Dog Eats First, she had a major make over late last week. She.was hospitalized for a week because the doctors were concerned about amputation of the foot/ leg. Looks like that may not have to happen but we can't rule it out completely.
