Such an adorable pond! It came with the client's house, and they love it so much, but have zero ponding experience. (My personal favorite, because I love educating!) I found tons of rock on the bottom, which I stacked to control runoff as well as hold their tube in place, removed 20lbs of muck and debris, added a level to their waterfall so they can actually hear some splishy splashies, custom-potted a water lily for them, added some water lettuce, filled and drained until clear, added dechlor, and one baby koi so they have something to watch! I also trimmed back their bushes, which were completely blocking all light and shedding needles constantly into their pond.

JUST IN! 9” Mona Lisa direct pure Japanese bloodline spawn. Mama is worth 3.2 million and her children are already stunners as well - with these genes, they are both growers and show-ers. The jewel of every pond. If you want someone to come over and say “oh my God, look at that Koi!!!!😳🤩” this is 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 Koi!

Unplanned pond rehab today!
forgot my swamp hag dechlorinating crystals at home so, being in crestwood, I had to run to Walmart to grab a substitute…..
I would not go to target like this
Who are we kidding….𝒚𝒆𝒔 𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅
As i was loudly squishing through the store in my good leather boots looking for dechlor (which ended up being at the other end of walmart)
I caused quite the comotion 😂
There were A LOT of associates working at this particular Walmart, and every single one of them stopped what they were doing mid task with 𝑬𝑿𝑻𝑹𝑬𝑴𝑬𝑳𝒀 SHOCKED & CONCERNED faces, I even had 4 associates ask me 1) if I was okay 2) if they needed to call someone 3) what happened to me etc 😂😂😂 i explained I cleaned koi ponds for a living and could they point me in the direction of the pet section as they didn’t have a pond section 🤪 I found some, as Well as some Walmart crocs and entertained quite a few people in the process.

An inquiry from the nextdoor app of “Would you like some big healthy comets?” Turned into spontaneous pond rehab. Her husband put 13 fish from petco in the pond as babies 4 years ago and they quickly grew into massive whales- outgrowing this 700 gal pond. (There were 44 in there!)
I saw the photo she sent me via text, and instantly offered our services- I could tell her pond was in need of a swamp hag rehab. We had finished for the day, so we loaded the car and went right over.
Sure enough, rock at the bottom. We removed that, removed the larger flat border rocks that had fallen in (they have German shepherds and grandkids) mucked out the bottom, built her a planting area, clwaned out her filters, and instructed her how to do that as well.
I also then instructed her how to turn her falls system into a bog planting area. She purchased a few koi spawn, and will be purchasing some slightly larger ones (now that her massive whales are being given the swamp hag aquatic quarantine treatment before finding new MUCH larger homes! THESE FISH ARE SO FABULOUS YOU GUYS OMGGGGGG I’ll post video of them later!

We at swamp hag aquatics absolutely love making your pond the crystal clear, self sustaining ecosystem you’ve always wanted!
We thoroughly cleaned this pond, planted the river wetland stream bog with some plants to increase filtration (more to come!) but LOOK HOW GORGEOUS!
