* CM is a Certificate of Merit and it could be translated as equivalent of Champion title we can get on AKC with rare breeds before they fully join AKC. CM2 and higher levels could translate to Grand Champion levels.

Making new chapters! First Presa ever to have CM5! He is also first with CM4 and CM3! Finished today while also winning BIOS in Doswell, Va under judge Kevin E. Lind ❤️ on second show under judge Kathryn Schwabe he went group 3.
We won a really beautiful engraved silver tray for BIS!

From fun stuff car battery died after shows! Just a pinch of extra anxiety before 10h drive home tomorrow 😅 from good things, Virginia Kennel Club sponsored Spaghetti for everybody so it’s going to be Evan’s next favorite show next to Oyster Bay (because we could spend time in NYC) and Orlando as he loves Italy and Italian food

In one of the groups somebody recommended this brush and wow! It did the job well! He is regularly bathed and brushed, he started shedding but not much was coming out with brushing, and this thing worked like magic!

I’ve made this collage for a discussion about colors. It’s all the same dog just in various shade of brindle, fawn, black and with white markings. It’s not perfect but you can see how much color can change and how different the dog will look in different color or markings. We see a lot of discussions about colors and it’s really hard to believe it’s been decades and that’s the only thing people can talk about regarding breed standard. It’s a sad state of affairs 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ps. The dog with white markings would be the maksimum amount of white permitted by breed standard. The goal is to minimize white markings. The heavy white dog would be out of standard but this can happen when you breed two dogs with white markings - same genetics as for example in Boxers where if you breed two flashy dogs there is a big chance of getting a white puppy. Just genetics. Not rocket science. It can help you understand why some things happen and how to possibly avoid them. Color is also an easy fix in one generation.
