IT’S OUR FEBRUARY MUTUAL AID DAY! Today, we’re sending funds directly to pet owners in need. 🚨 if you’ve never received funds from us 🚨 please drop your Venmo handle in the comments. We’re sending $75 direct payments to anyone that owns a pet today until we’ve hit our cap. We are asking for requests from first-time recipients only this month.

At this time, we can only use Venmo, not CashApp or other platforms, for payments. Please share so folks can take advantage of this opportunity! ❤️‍🔥

PLEASE READ DIRECTIONS IN FULL:

Today is our second mutual aid day, and we’re giving away funds directly to pet owners in need. We’re dispersing funds today, and if you own a pet, we want to help you. We’ll send out $100 direct payments until we’ve hit our cap for the day, all you need to do is drop your venmo handle in the comments. As always, we do prioritize our most marginalized community members, so BIPOC, trans + gender non-conforming, and disabled pet owners move to the front of the line! Please share so your anyone in your network can take advantage of our mutual aid day.

We will turn off commenting when we’ve hit our cap for the day, and don’t worry, we will do this again each month until we’ve run out of funds!

This Sunday is our last official Community Dog Resource Center! It's a bittersweet day as we transition our model toward mutual aid and solidarity with community members in need. We are hopeful for the future and look forward to continuing to learn and grow as we make a different impact in our community!

We will have free food, dog beds, and leashes. First come, first serve at The Beechmont Community Center (205 W. Wellington Ave.)

The past 1.5 years have brought a lot of growth, reflection, and introspection for so many. We’ve made the decision to move in a different direction as an organization, after almost 12 years of volunteer service to our community. With growth comes the ability to evaluate our own actions, and decide the best path for us moving forward. We can do so much good, and still reflect on our actions. We know that not everyone will agree with this direction, and that’s okay. All we can do is encourage everyone to examine their own lives through the lens of the systemic issues and injustices that plague our communities.

While we may not be operating our CDRC in its current form any longer, we believe this approach will continue to help community members and their pets just as much, perhaps even more. We hope you’ll support us in this move, and know how grateful we are for your support in our mission over the years. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ♥️
