Did you know that when the shelters are full at Louisville Metro Animal Services , FOMAS covers the redemption fees for owners reclaiming their pets? This program allows owners to be reunited with their pets without the burden of additional costs.

Who’s your best friend? It’s probably your pet, and we don’t blame you. 🪪🐕🐈‍⬛ Make sure your best friend is found safe by microchipping them.

Microchips are injected into the back of the neck in a painless procedure. If they get lost, this device allows others to identify you as your pet’s owner. If your pet is microchipped, when is the last time you updated the contact information? It’s important to always update contact information online to make sure your pet can make it home safely.

THIS IS YOUR REMINDER!! Make sure the information connected to your pet’s microchip is up-to-date. While you’re here, make sure your pets’ vaccinations are up-to-date as well 😉 We will be posting upcoming microchip clinics soon!

Have you heard about our Kennel Club Sponsorship opportunity? Our Kennel Club allows you to sponsor a kennel, but it does so much more than that.

Both businesses and individuals from the community are eligible to sponsor a kennel. One kennel club sponsor that deserves a shout out is Cindy Warner's Babies, sponsored by Mark's Feed Store. Cindy has done so much over the years to help community animals, specifically through her fundraisers at Mark's Feed Store that have raised thousands of dollars. Thank you Cindy for making a difference across the community!

When you join our Kennel Club, you are sponsoring a life (multiple lives) by providing additional funding for the animals waiting on their furever home. On average, 35 animals will pass through a single kennel over the course of the year. The funds we collect from Kennel Sponsorship go towards food, supplies, enrichment items, and other FOMAS programs. We wanted to show you some of the current temporary residents.

Meet Anna & Kate, on Instagram! 👭🐾 These two volunteers are experts at dog walks and potty breaks. Kate’s family found out about Metro Animal Services through a Kroger event they hosted. Her parents began volunteering as enrichment item preppers and continue to do so today. Kate began volunteering shortly after in April 2024. She instantly felt a calling to be a dog-walking volunteer. A few months later, she recruited her friend Anna. Together, they raise awareness for the dogs at MAS and volunteer etiquette. Now, they have recruited their significant others Grant and Adam. We are so thankful for the whole family joining in.

Friends of Metro Animal Services (FOMAS) serves as an ambassador for public awareness, community-wide collaboration, and is the sole fundraising entity for Metro Animal Services (MAS) in Louisville, Kentucky.
