Aurora had a full day of real-world exposure today, and she handled it like a champ! 🐾✨
So many new sounds, sights, and surroundings — and she did amazing through it all. We’re so proud of her confidence and progress!👏🏼

Can your dog walk like this out in public?
Our Stay & Train programs help provide safe, controlled exposure so your dog can learn to be calm, confident, and well-mannered in all kinds of situations! 🐕‍🦺✨

With beautiful sunsets & lit up turn out yards, it always makes for a beautiful evening here at River Bank K9. ♥️🐾

This lil guy, Bleu, is wrapping up his 30 day stay and train program with me tomorrow. Let’s just say, he had no self control when he arrived…no one showed him he possessed the ability to control himself. I’m so proud how quickly he learned with the right guidance. 💙 Bleu, go home and be the best you can be! We’ll miss you. 😘

Some of you know, this is Zoi. I rescued her from the Franklin County Animal Shelter with the help of Carla with Paws for Life. My plan was to foster her like I’ve done with many others and find her a home. She thrived at my facility and really showed dedication to work with me. I couldn’t help but adopt her. I’ve had her now for 1 1/2 years as we fought heart worms and still working on some fear issues. She’s becoming more confident with her vest on knowing she’s not going to be touched by strangers and her job is to stay with me. She’s battling her fears of strangers walking by, city noises and learning not to bolt. I’m truly proud to announce she just received her Urban title (the third level) from AKC of the Canine Good Citizen. Some pics of her final test in public buildings.

I hope this encourages you to dedicate some time with your dog. Working together as a team is not just rewarding but it’s fulfilling to the soul. The bonding is a whole new level because the line of communication is opened.

We are starting group classes Monday, May 18th at 7 pm. This is our entry level class for all beginners (dogs and human) $200 provides you with six, 1 hour lessons! In this class you’ll learn everything you need to know to train your dog for the every day situations. We’re currently taking deposits now. Text Brenn at 919 369-8970 to reserve your spot.

Educate yourself for the benefit of your dog’s safety and happiness! Not to mention your peace of mind and freedom to do more with your dog(s) for a fulfilling life. We only have them with us for a short time! ♥️🐾

This video breaks down what an e-collar actually is and more importantly, how learning works when it matters most.
You’ll see a live self-demo so you understand exactly what the stimulation feels like, and why control, timing, and contingency matter more than the tool itself.
Some dogs do very well with positive reinforcement alone.
But if you’ve been training for months or years and your dog is still not reliable when it counts… especially with behaviors like poor recall, chasing, or high drive in real environments, then this video is for you.
This is not about replacing reinforcement!
It’s about understanding what happens when reinforcement no longer competes with reality.
What you’ll see:
What the e-collar really does (and what it doesn’t). Why “aversive” does not mean harm. How clear, immediate, avoidable consequences create understanding. Why avoidance is not the same as living in fear. Where redirection works and where it doesn’t.
At some point, every training system is tested the same way:
What happens when the dog is already committed?
That’s what this talk is about.
