Bowood Barn: Virginia’s Most Enchantingly Magical Wedding Venue


The imagination is the only limit. Barn weddings are a unique experience, especially how Bowood folds every comfort feature into the rustic outdoor barn venue. Bowood can be as rustic or elegantly over the top as you want. Noteworthy is our flooring: the tongue and groove Douglas Fir floor, intended for horse drawn carriage storage,

makes for a wonderful floor worthy of the prettiest stilettos or flat leather dance slippers. We have plenty of gravel walkways to minimize dirt and mud should rain be an issue. A grassy courtyard with a canopy of string lights off the gable end of the barn is also a popular feature for evening gatherings. Whether it’s the Rehearsal Dinner, an evening wedding, or perhaps it was the proposal dinner ride that set all the events into action! More soft luxurious grass to set up corn hole, marquees, etc. surrounds the courtyard. Electricity is available with lots of outlets throughout the barn, inside and out. Plenty of parking is located close to the barn. Staff is always on site to assist with questions and the entire weekend is dedicated to just one event. There is no pressure to set up and clean up. We also hope you will take advantage of our working farm. The animals are usually kept in pastures away from the barn to minimize insects and odors. However, if you schedule a photo shoot prior to the event, they may be included in the shots by the barn if you wish.
