Did you know that most Siamese cats are born white & develop their markings weeks after they are born? Their coats are temperature sensitive and the warmth of the womb prevents the color gene from affecting their fur. The distinctive darker color patterns on their ears, tails, and limbs only develop when exposed to temperatures below 33℃. This reaction is thought to be caused by a recessive albino gene. Siamese cats are cooler at their paws, nose, and tail, making their fur darker there as well creating their darker markings in these areas. Fetch! client, Kona, is a Seal Point Siamese, which refers to the fawn colored body with darker points. This combination of colors and distinctive light eyes make Kona the handsome fella that he is.
