🩵 Enrichment doesn't have to be complicated!

Lick mats are one of my favorite ways to help dogs relax, decompress, and keep their minds busy. The repetitive licking action can have a naturally calming effect, making lick mats a great choice after a walk, training session, or whenever your dog needs help settling down.

I just made a fresh batch of lick mats with some dog safe treats that are headed to the freezer! ❄️ Freezing them makes the fun last even longer and gives your dog an extra challenge while providing a healthy outlet for licking. (It's also very refreshing on hot summer days!)

A little enrichment can go a long way toward a happier, calmer dog! 🐾

Dog training is not linear. So what does that mean, exactly? Here's an example:

One day, your dog sits perfectly, walks nicely on leash, and seems to "get it." The next day, it feels like they forgot everything.

That doesn't mean training failed. It means your dog is actually learning.

Dogs don't improve in a straight line. They learn in layers. New environments, distractions, emotions, growth spurts, stress, excitement, or the dreaded "adolescence", can all affect behavior. Progress looks more like a winding path than a straight climb.

Those "off" days? They're part of the process. Each repetition still counts. Each setback still teaches something.

Consistency, patience and realistic expectations are what create lasting results-not perfection.

Keep going. You're doing better than you think. 🐾💛
