To the people who foreclosed on their house at 25260 Packard in Roseville 20 years ago...
You left your cat in the house with a bag of food and bag of litter dumped on the floor in a bedroom with a piece of paper on the wall that said “the cat’s name is Sam”. Finding and saving Sam became one of my first cat rescue missions in life. Little did I know rescuing cats would become my life mission and purpose.
I was at a BBQ at a friends house when you yelled over the fence that you were being foreclosed on and were done packing your stuff and leaving. You said if we were interested in taking anything left, that the sheriff would be over in the morning to lock the house up. Out of curiosity, we went to see what you left.
After seeing that note in the bedroom, I went searching. I found Sam in the basement backed in a corner under the stairs...hiding, terrified. It took some time to reassure him that he was going to be ok and I was there to help.
He wasn’t scared for long. Sam became a wonderful part of our family for 14 years. He spent a lot of his time perched in windows watching the birds. Sam was such a love muffin!! He would just throw himself of the ground and roll around purring while you pet him. He was our handsome boy.
Sam passed away 6 years ago today around 19 years of age. Sam died peacefully surrounded by his family. We were blessed beyond words to have Sam as part of our family for 14 years.
Sam, Samuel, Sammy, Sammy Pants, Chunk of Love, Purr Factory, Handsome Boy... I’m sorry someone left you behind as trash. One persons trash is another’s treasure and our family treasured every moment with you.
