🚨He's 3 years old and been given only 2 weeks. James Gunn has hardly even had a chance. Must be ADOPTED/RESCUED BY THURS 10/29 OR HE WILL BE EUTHANIZED the next morning 🚨

Arriving as a stray, he became available on October 8th. Two weeks later he was assigned a euthanasia date 💔

His mistake? Being anxious and fearful inside of his kennel. One note from staff stating he was barking & hiding in his cubby. Protective & alert by nature, shepherds often bark or show reactivity behind kennel bars. Shelter environments are extremely loud & stressful for sensitive dogs like James.

When out with volunteers he was timid at first, mostly avoidant. But we've noticed how quickly he is coming along, now sitting right up against us, allowing pets and even bravely giving a kiss on the cheek.

James has done well in playgroup. Gentle & dainty, he keeps to himself and can get overwhelmed with lots of dogs in the yard. He's starting to mingle now 💛

Shelters are full and good dogs like James who deserve more time are not able to receive it❣️

He needs an adopter or rescue by Thursday 10/29 or he will be euthanized.

VISIT North Central to meet James! Please consider ADOPTING if you can commit to a large breed dog. Or FOSTER. SHARING his story will also help get him seen.🙏

🚨Easter Egg needs an adopter or foster by 10/30 or he will be euthanized the following morning on Halloween 10/31 at North Central LA shelter!💔🚨

Easter Egg came to the shelter in August and has been, sadly, overlooked. Originally surrendered by his owners 😢 he’s a petite 2 year old, 40 lbs pit mix that’s equal parts loving and energetic.

He has notes from the groomer-
“This little guy did so good during bath today! He loved the water and seemed to not mind the dryer. Overall such a sweet boy!”🥹

In his early playgroups with other dogs at the shelter, he was noted to be “soft, puppy, steerable,” but over time he’s become more pushy in play and difficult to steer. He does better with social female dogs. He is not yet neutered.
Slow, proper intros recommended when bringing a new dog home.

Easter Egg is a young boy who should have his whole life ahead of him! Please help him to find safe exit!

‼️Beautiful boy Mojave is looking for his hero before his time is up - URGENT NEEDS (precursor to euthanasia)‼️

Stunning, soft eyed senior Mojave will be given a euthanasia date soon and he needs your help. He arrived at North Central in early September as an owner surrender. Sadly his owners didn't leave any notes about him or a reason for giving him up💔

He came in underweight and quickly developed discharge from his eyes (since cleared). He allowed medical staff to handle him and evaluate him right when he arrived 🩷

Mojave was scared in his kennel at first, retreating to his cubby and hesitant to come out. He was timid with volunteers but would approach for treats and we quickly learned how much this skinny boy loves his goodies. He'll make nice eye contact and give you his paw when you ask for it ⭐Sometimes even sneaking a little bit of the best stuff when you're not lookin ha!

When out in the yard with dogs he is gentle & dainty, tolerant, seeks comfort from handlers in the yard. He can be a little pushy but doesn't seem to recognize that he is.

Mojave has shown to be anxious inside the small glass meet rooms so his person will give him space to become comfortable in new environments 🫶

Unfortunately due to kennel presence his time is almost up. Which means he will be given a deadline very soon.

How is this pretty girl Bailey still looking for her home!? 🏡 🐕

Bailey loves getting to explore on her daily walks around the neighborhood with her foster siblings. She also enjoys relaxing in the sunshine and has begun showing her playful side with happy tail wags, affectionate kisses, and gentle invitations to play.

Bailey gets along well with other dogs and has been steadily building confidence through structured introductions and pack walks. She has shown appropriate interactions with dogs of all sizes, including her foster's senior Chihuahua, and continues to become more comfortable each day.

She would thrive in a calm, patient home that can provide structure, consistency, and positive encouragement as she continues to blossom.

Because Bailey can still be startled by loud noises and sudden movements, a peaceful environment with adopters who understand the importance of letting her build confidence at her own pace would be an ideal fit.

Oso needs a committed adopter or rescue by TOMORROW- October 21st EOD deadline‼️

Shelter life has been especially rough on Oso but not in the way that most people would see it. Back in July, he was suddenly surrendered to the shelter due to “size” despite living his entire life with his family. He went from the comfort of home life to the coldness of a kennel within an instant.

Suddenly this very house-broken dog could no longer relieve himself. He chases his tail randoml and has had a rough time in playgroup because he’s seemingly on edge all the time.

However, all of that fades away when he starts to play. When you give him a toy, he brings it back and will even throw it for himself if you don’t. Suddenly this “weird” dog becomes not so weird after all.

Unfortunately, this environment simply is not helping Oso and he needs out of the shelter by Wed October 21st EOD.
He needs someone who will give him time and space to decompress and acclimate, in a safe and caring home. He seems under socialized with other dogs, so would be best with a tolerant, social dog if to live with another dog.

Please SHARE Oso so he can be SEEN and SAVED. He had a normal life before this and he just wants it back. If you can help, please reach out as soon as possible.
