Did you know that poodles were originally bred to be water retrievers? This started in Germany, and even the name “poodle” originates from the word “pudel” or “pudelin” meaning “to splash in water” in German. ❣️

Poodles have endurance, and a great swimming ability that made them great companions for hunting game. They are also extremely intelligent and able to learn rather quickly! 🐶

Their coat helps them move through cold water and their athletic bodies helped with stamina! 🌊

Who knew! Learning the origins of some of our fur babe breeds is always interesting! 🐾

Did you know the world’s smallest dog is about the size of a dollar bill. 💵

Fur Babe, Pearl measures in at about 5 inches! She is a Chihuahua who is now Guinness World Record recognized as the world’s smallest dog! 😮

Pearl has since got a claim to fame and appeared on some television shows! 🐾

When she’s not traveling the world, she’s at home with her pawrents in Florida! 🐶

Did you know that your fur babe has their own unique personality? ❣️

There are specific questionnaires that have be developed to help create trait maps for a dog’s personality. Some of your pup’s personality traits are due to DNA rather their their life experiences. 🐾

You may think a dog’s breed has an big impact on their personality, however it actually comes down to the individual dog. Of course there are traits that can be breed specific, but two pups in the same litter could end up having completely different traits! 🐶

Brain activity, hormones, environment, our personalities all have an impact on our fur babes and what type of personality they may have. ✨

Did you know that your fur babes have a natural insulator with their coat? ❣️

Dogs coat traps air between it’s layers. This slows heat loss in cold weather and also helps moderate their body temperature in warm weather. 🐾

Dogs have an outer coat and undercoat. The outer coat is a barrier against the wind, sun and rain. The undercoat has fine hairs and is dense that can trap air close to the skin. This helps with cold weather as it slows down the heat loss and can help a dog stay warm! 🐶

Wow! Our fur babe’s FUR (or hair) helps keep them protected in all climates! 😮
