I guess I have to make that post now… Amy had declined in recent weeks due to an ovarian cyst. She received Cystorellin shots but as always, those only buy time, they don’t cure.
She abruptly declined when I had left for vacation. Despite her decline, my husband and the vet decided to try some more meds since she showed more interest in food and her surroundings.
When I got home on Tuesday I saw that her condition had once again declined and she was skin and bones. She had also bled slightly from her rectum…usually a sign of cancer. I spoke to the vet and we decided to make her comfortable as much as possible instead of bringing her in. I gave her lots of love and treats, she wasn’t eating much anymore. That night I woke up and 2.45 due to jetlag and looked at the camera downstairs. I saw Amy lying next to the veggies and it looked like she was struggling. I rushed down and could tell that it was the moment I had been dreading. I let her rest in the playpen and put my hand on her all throughout and spoke to her until her last breath. Amy had never grown into a lap piggy but her personality was so sweet and gentle. She had literally raised 4 babies that came to us over the years and was always the calm center of the group. She was 1.5 years old when she came us and stayed for another 6 years. We loved her very much and she is missed by Quinny, Izzy and her mom and dad 💔
