šØšZERO INTEREST š LESS THAN 24 HRS TO LIVE! MATT DIES TOMORROW, WED 7/29ššØ
This is our friend, Matt. Hard not to notice this handsome boy as he stands at the front of his kennel, wagging his tail and people watching with his two different colored eyes (one brown and one blue).
He arrived at the shelter on the 4th of July. Now he's in danger of losing his lifeš
We had a feeling Matt was going to be
in trouble following his playgroup assessment, so we made a point to meet him one on one. We found Matt to be a very SWEET boy.
He spent most of his yard time cuddling up and getting all of the pets! He also happily showed off his sit for treats and played with a few toys that we tossed his way. Sadly, Matt caught an upper respiratory infection shortly into his stay, so he hasn't had much yard time outside of that.
Matt only went into playgroup twice before getting sick. His very first playgroup outing, he was mounting other dogs (he's not neutered) and was hard to steer with correction tools. When playgroup staff tried to use the sq**rt bottle and shake can to stop him from mounting, he protested the correction by trying to grab the shake can while lunging toward the handler (he didn't make contact). He continued to protest the shake can during the session. His second session, he did a lot better though! They said he had no issues and "did great."
Matt now dies on WEDNESDAY 7/29 anytime after 8AM due to his very first playgroup outing and for a single negative kennel behavior note from a staff member during cleaning. He was also made RESCUE ONLY.
Matt needs a responsible human who can help him work on how he copes in moments of high arousal/stress.
Hoping there's someone who wants to give him that second chance at life and set him up for success upon leaving the shelter.
He's a GOOD BOY. Please help Matt! He's waiting at South LA Shelter.
