Baby (Southern) Ibera Greek Tortoise
Southern Ibera greek tortoises (graeca ibera) hatched here with us in the summer of 2023. These are larger than average adults with males 6-8" and females 7-10" size, some of our biggest greeks. They are an overall light beige/straw color with variable amounts of black banding in their pattern. Very few true Southern Ibera are around in the Unites States (the large majority of Ibera are the Northern darker type).
These are currently kept indoors on a coco coir/cypress substrate with leaf litter on top, kept damp and deep to allow/encourage naturalistic burrowing behavior. They are fed every day early morning, a diet of mixed greens chopped with mulberry and grape leaves mixed in, topped with our homemade 'herbal hay' that we offer as well. Calcium is added about twice a week and a multivitamin about once a week. They are soaked 4-5 days a week generally for 15-20 minutes.
