From a sleek new reception desk to top-of-the-line equipment (aka some seriously fun toys), plus some very classy black tile setting off our teal color palette, things are really coming together. Every day brings us closer to the finish line, and we can’t wait to welcome you into the completed space! 🙌

SURGERY CENTER UPDATE: Since the Dur-A-Flex, Inc. floors went in, it's been all hands on deck to put the remaining peices together. From cabinets, to surgery lights, to kennels, and x-ray, it's been an exiciting couple of weeks! 😍🤩

Ever wonder what a bone plate looks like? Our TPLO plates are the sexiest *in my opinion* and most modern design on the market. What makes them so exceptional? Well …

Since there is a curve in the tibial head – where the TPLO plate is attached – the hole positioning of this particular plate allows the screws to be placed at such an angle that they provide compression in both the distal and cranial aspects of the osteotomy.

In orthopedic surgery, where precision is everything, it’s the little things that make a big difference.

SURGERY CENTER UPDATE: We have drywall!! With this bottleneck step behind us, we're quickly moving onto the next phases of painting, cabinets, and floors. Our crew is currently onsite making all of that happen! Yay!!

So this is something you don’t see every day … in fact, it’s the first time Dr. Simon has ever seen it happen.

Marshmallow had gone to several other vets who couldn’t diagnose the source of her knee pain. When she came to us, Dr. Simon palpated a luxating patella and once in surgery, quickly noticed that the long digital extensor tendon had avulsed – meaning it had torn off with a piece of the bone to which it was attached. As such, Dr. Simon made a bone tunnel and reattached the long digital extensor tendon with a suture.

With some mindful rehab and targeted therapy, we expect to see Marshmallow back to her normal, playful self in no time.

It’s not very often we get to use the smallest TPLO plate on the market – this one is designed for itty bitty dogs, and our tiny Tofu - weighing in at 2 kg - definitely falls into that category 🐶☺️
