Many dogs develop lumps and bumps that are not cancerous, for example:

🟒 Lipomas: Fatty tumors that are soft, movable, and usually harmless. Common in older dogs.
🟠 Sebaceous Cysts: Blocked oil glands that form small, firm bumps filled with sebum.
🟣 Histiocytomas: Raised, red bumps that often appear suddenly, particularly in younger dogs.
πŸ”΅ Warts (Papillomas): Caused by a virus, these small, cauliflower-like growths are typically seen in younger or immune-compromised dogs.

πŸ’‘ While many lumps are harmless, it's always best to have them checked. Our clinic offers cancer screenings with the HT Vista device to determine if a lump is benign or needs further testing β€” all in just 40 seconds with a pain-free, needle-free scan!

Today, on Giving Tuesday, some of our doctors and staff gave their time to help spay & neuter pets at LA's North Central shelter to get pets one step closer to spending the holidays at their forever homes. It's one of the many things our teams do throughout the year to give back the communities we live in and one of our core values.

A few of our team members volunteered at a community wellness event to help those pet owners that are experiencing tough financial times. Our team vaccinated, dewormed, administered flea and tick prevention and provided microchip identification to over 50 pets and the event helped over 200 pets! Just one of the many ways we give back at Encino Vet Center 🧑🩡🧑🩡🧑🩡😺🐢
