You know who you are.
The ones who would rather smell like horse than perfume.
The ones who consider mucking stalls a workout.
The ones who stay “just 10 more minutes” until it’s dark outside.
The ones with hay in their hair, dirt on their boots, & a horse somewhere in their thoughts 24/7. 🤎
Being a barn rat isn’t just about riding.
It’s learning to show up when you’re tired.
It’s cleaning the stall even when nobody is watching.
It’s fixing your mistakes, trying again, & getting back in the saddle after a bad ride.
It’s celebrating the tiny victories that nobody else understands.
It’s choosing your horse’s needs before your own comfort.
& someday, all those early mornings, late nights, muddy boots, sore muscles, frustrating rides, & countless hours spent doing the un-glamorous work will add up.
Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep riding. Keep dreaming. 🐎
Because the barn rats who put in the work when nobody is watching…
are the ones who become the horsemen everyone notices. 👑
barn rats; the dying breed that is so needed in this industry.
