Happy! Happy! Happy!

When I was living in Montana, I didn't get much chance to show my cats. Some of the kittens went to show and/or breeding homes and I was proud of their results, but it's another thing to get to brag a little bit about a kitten or cat you loved so much that you kept it to continue your own breeding program. One of those cats is LostWoods You Are My Sunshine, aka Soleil.

Thanks to the efforts of Leah and Dwight Dow in Mesquite TX last weekend, I get to brag today about my new Grand Champion! Soleil had a great show - almost a one show grand earning 190 points in Mesquite. (She had a few points already.) I didn't get to be there in person, but Leah kept me up to date with tons of pictures, videos, and reports so it was almost like I got to experience it myself. I cannot thank Leah and Dwight enough for showing Soleil - and all the bathing, drying, and general grooming that goes into presenting a cat well.

If you're wondering... letting the cat out of bag here (LOL!)... Soleil is down in Texas for a bit making friends with Caleb and hopefully making more than just friends in the future. We're so excited and can't wait to see what these two do.

Not a great picture, but this is Bria. I'll get a picture of the other NFC tomorrow. I'm told it's a female dilute torbie, so not the male I thought.

Just a couple comments because I don't know the full story yet... Bria is not of my breeding, but with the permission of her breeder I placed her with an older couple about 10 or so years ago. They had stayed in touch and sent pictures pretty much annually until recently. They lived in CA, so it was a surprise to hear Bria had been surrendered in GA. I suspect that the husband is no longer in the picture and was told the woman who gave up Bria was moving to a place that didn't allow pets. If i remember right, she was European and had no family here other than her husband so she probably had no other options. I do know that she loved Bria very much, so I doubt she did this lightly or without great sorrow.

I'll be posting more information when I get it, but is anyone in the southeast US -especially Georgia- interested in adopting two older Norwegian Forest Cats? They've been rescued from kill shelter after being surrendered. According to the paperwork the owner provided, one is Bria, a 15 year old girl I'd rehomed after she was spayed. If this is her, she is a 15 year old torbie with white. They also rescued another NFC at the same time. The older couple who got Bria from me had a male NFC, so this is probably him.

As I said, I'll post more when I know more. The rescue is supposed to send me pictures, too.
