Dirty❤️. What can I say? Thank you and I love you. His first official run and futurity out, I failed him a little, as a jockey . He ended up 5 th in the 1D of the futurity . The next day, I rode better and he knocked off 4 tenths to be solid in the 2D of the open. Thanks buddy, I'm excited and thankful, you are mine. God gives his greatest to those that believe and are patient. I believe Lord and I'm ready ❤️🙏

Well, Dirty did a futurity exhibition last night. Pretty happy with him, he is gaining confidence and focusing more. A 16.3 was fast time, he was a 17.1, so, I think he will be ready ❤️

Laying them off is hard. But, we owe it to them, if they need it. This horse gives me his all, all the time. He has been plagued this year, with different injuries. I would get him healed, then go back. In that time , he started not wanting to go in. I then treated for ulcers and he started going right back in. Well, his last couple runs, his times were off a little, but, still respectable, but, when he balked again at the gate, his last run, I knew something was up. He was sore in his rear tendon sheaths and so, we injected. Instead of the typical 5 days off and back to work, he is getting a 4 week break. I want him to heal completely. It's so hard, because not only is he off, but, then he will need another 6 weeks or so to get legged back up. But, he doesn't have a voice, so it's our job to do what's right and listen when they show signs of distress. Is it a bummer? Yes, but, there will be more races down the road. We are blessed to play this game with God's greatest animal, put your horse first ❤️

Dirty got exhibitioned, both Friday and Saturday night. He is getting so consistent . We should be ready to enter, by November.

He finally did it!!!! Poor guy has had a tough time with injuries this year, having very few runs, as a result. He slipped on the back of second on Friday night, which caused him to fall into the barrel, a little. Last night, he said, I got this mom, buckle up. This horse has more personality than any horse I've ever owned. He is only 5, so, I think he will continue to mature and come on. He was second in the 1D❤️

✨Energy Matters!!!✨

High energy. Low energy. Nervous energy.
Horses recognize it—and they feed off of it.

Have you ever walked into the barn—or your home—carrying someone else’s frustration (or your own), only to have it blow back in your face?
Whether it’s your horse, your kids, your spouse... they feel what you bring.
And they respond in kind.

Read that again: They feel what you bring and respond in kind.
“Frustration begins where knowledge ends.” Sit with that.

I can’t tell you how many accidents we’d have in the barn if we met every nervous horse’s energy with more nerves. If we didn’t offer them a calm place to land when they needed it most.

Why don’t we do that more in our personal lives?
Why don’t we offer calm when calm is what’s needed—instead of matching chaos with chaos?

When you’re working with animals—especially horses—your energy isn’t just a mood.
It’s a message.
It can ground or ignite. Soothe or startle. Heal or harm.

That’s why it is absolutely critical to learn how to manage your energy—not just in the barn, but in life.

The lessons we learn with horses don’t stop at the barn door.
They show up in how we parent.
How we show up in our relationships.
How we navigate conflict and tension.

Because here’s the truth:
The energy you feed the most is the one that will prevail—good, bad, or indifferent.

So if you’re having a rough day, and you can’t shake it off when you pick up that halter—
do yourself and your horse a favor.
Turn around. Go back to the house.
Take a breath. Regroup.
Don’t come back until you can offer them the energy they deserve.
Be their steady, be their calm. You’re family deserves the same❤️
