In 2018 and after more than 20 years in the Air Force, Bill realized that civilian life would be that much sweeter with a trusty copilot.
So he gave Jenny Rose, then six years-old at the time, what every shelter pet wants most: freedom, and a loving home.
These days Bill describes her as "old, but s***ky." And over the years Bill has sometimes struggled, as an elderly veteran on a fixed income, to give Jenny Rose the veterinary care so essential to her 's***k.'
But thanks to the generosity of our hero program supporters, we've been able to keep Bill and Jenny Rose together by funding both necessary and quality of life medical care, including dental extractions.
These modest investments mean that Bill doesn't have to face giving his beloved BFF back to the shelter.
Preventing pet surrender is just as important as adoption.
It keeps pets in loving homes, where they belong. People are spared the heartache of giving up their cherished family members. And already overcrowded shelters are not further burdened with pets who become homeless solely for economic reasons.
It costs less to keep people and pets together. Less money. Less shelter burden. And most important, less heartache and fewer broken families.
Our work is only possible thanks to compassionate people like you. Please make a hero fund donation today so that we can continue to keep people and pets together, like Bill and Jenny Rose: https://www.petsforpatriots.org/programs/hero-program/
