In 2019 our founder was one of four women featured in Oprah Winfrey's O Magazine about the beauty of giving.

While much has changed since, one thing has not: our devotion to help people save pets and pets save people.

In 2018 and after more than 20 years in the Air Force, Bill realized that civilian life would be that much sweeter with a trusty copilot.

So he gave Jenny Rose, then six years-old at the time, what every shelter pet wants most: freedom, and a loving home.

These days Bill describes her as "old, but s***ky." And over the years Bill has sometimes struggled, as an elderly veteran on a fixed income, to give Jenny Rose the veterinary care so essential to her 's***k.'

But thanks to the generosity of our hero program supporters, we've been able to keep Bill and Jenny Rose together by funding both necessary and quality of life medical care, including dental extractions.

These modest investments mean that Bill doesn't have to face giving his beloved BFF back to the shelter.

Preventing pet surrender is just as important as adoption.

It keeps pets in loving homes, where they belong. People are spared the heartache of giving up their cherished family members. And already overcrowded shelters are not further burdened with pets who become homeless solely for economic reasons.

It costs less to keep people and pets together. Less money. Less shelter burden. And most important, less heartache and fewer broken families.

Our work is only possible thanks to compassionate people like you. Please make a hero fund donation today so that we can continue to keep people and pets together, like Bill and Jenny Rose: https://www.petsforpatriots.org/programs/hero-program/

For more than a decade Mike has been serving in the Air Force. Now this seasoned airman decided he needed a wingmanโ€”a big one!โ€”and rescued Wally, a stunning, 4+ year-old curly-haired fella.

Thanks to our Animal Welfare League of Arlington, partners since 2011 and offering our members $50 off adoption fees.

Dare you not to smile!

A couple of curiously named cats for this Meow Monday:

๐Ÿ’™ 9 year-old Puppy got his lifeline from Jay, Navy veteran, who saved 5 year-old Tommy the cat as well. Thanks Norfolk Animal Care Center for this two-fer!

๐Ÿ’™ Catty is one lucky black cat, rescued by Lynn, Army veteran, through our partners The Louisa Humane Society.

Memorial Day is a solemn holiday to honor those who died in the line of dutyโ€”men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live in freedom.

Please take a moment to reflect upon the souls lost in service to our nation. Reach out to family, friends, and neighbors who bear the burdens of their absence.

May all of our fallen heroes never be forgotten, and may their memories be a blessing to all who knew them.

Sometimes we can't stand all of the CUTENESS!! ๐Ÿ’™

Lanaria serves in the Navy and wanted to give her beautiful young family the experience of a pet sibling. So she threw a lifeline to Chucky Cheese, who just days ago was in the care of our partners Baltimore Humane Society.

Now he's a trusty nap time companion and new best friend.

Kids growing up with pets pays dividends for years to come.

They learn compassion and responsibility, and studies show that they're twice as likely to adopt (vs buy) a pet when they're adults.

Adopt, never shop! ๐Ÿพ

During his third tour to the Middle East and second deployment to Afghanistan, Todd was seriously injured and medically retired from the Army.

While the traumatic events that led to his injury still haunt him to this day, he did not expect to save a rescue dog with anxieties of his own.

Beautiful story of healing at both ends of the leash thanks to our partners The Louisa Humane Society: bit.ly/todd-rocco
