The Ginny Fund

The Ginny Fund The Ginny Fund is an organization established on behalf of unwanted cats and kittens living on the streets of Long Island. Philip met and took Ginny home.

The story of Philip Gonzalez and Ginny is like no other. A down and out construction worker, disabled and depressed from a work-related accident, Philip was encouraged by a friend to adopt a dog. Ginny, found locked in a closet, left to starve to death with her pups, was rescued and brought to a local shelter. Ginny, in turn began to inexplicably find and bring home stray cats of her own. Thus beg

ins the story of this incredible duo brought together by a mutual need for one another and destined to become spirited examples of hope and healing within their community and worldwide. Ginny, with her miraculous ability to detect a stray in distress has saved over 700 abandoned, abused or disabled felines from such places as glove compartments, piles of glass, abandoned buildings and even the local shelter. Philip through his compassionate nature has provided medical care and secured homes for many of her rescues. He devotedly feeds and has had spayed or neutered the majority of over 300 cats that still live on the local streets. Ginny has since passed, but Philip and his friends still continue to do the work that Ginny had started.
