Hi, my name is Christine and my love for pets started with my two pugs Sasha and Sophie. When I got them I wanted to be sure they had plenty of friends so I started the Lakewood Pug meet up group. Through this group I have met so many friends and other crazy pug owners-I thought I was the only one! I frequently got asked if I knew anyone they trusted to leave there furr babies with and I said sure

! That led me to starting happy campers pet service as a hobby. Through the meet up group I plan 1-2 meets up's a month we have great fun. All breeds are welcome~

I also have a social networking site Pugslife (www.pugslife.org) for us crazy pug-lovers. It is site where we can proudly post pictures, updates and participate in discussions that many dog owners have within a wide range from behavior to health. The resources on the site are great! Pugslife has grown to over 4500 members. As a pet owner I understand the worry of not having time to walk the dogs, or not being able to make it home for lunch, or having to work late, or maybe just wanting to get together with friends after work. Hiring a pet sitter who can come to your home may be the best solution, I can be there for your four-legged family members to make sure they are walked, fed and loved. My Code of Ethics
Pets are like a member of your family and as a pet sitter you recognize the importance pets play in the lives of their owners. Your care of other people's pets is very important and should be looked upon as a very serious responsibility. As a pet sitter I follow the following code of ethics. Treat every pet as if it were your own. Dependability is of the utmost importance. Honesty and trustworthiness are expected by my customers

Your customer's home and property should be respected and protected. Always keep your promises and fulfill you commitments. "Anything less than outstanding is unacceptable." My Success as a Pet Sitter will be directly affected by the way I conduct myself and treat my clients and their pets. When people hear I’m a dog walker & pet sitter, they automatically assume it’s a hobby... a little side hustle... something I do for fun between jobs.
Then I tell them this IS my own business and suddenly I get the ‘hmm... okay’ look 👀
So here’s your reminder that dog walking isn’t just throwing a ball in a field for an hour. It’s responsibility, safety, behaviour knowledge, long days, all weather conditions, emotional attachment, planning, cleaning, communicating and caring for someone’s whole world every single day

Hi, I’m Christine, the walker behind Happy Campers Pet Service. 🐾

More than 15 years ago, I founded the Long Beach Pug Meetup Group. What started as a simple love for pugs grew into a community of more than 1,000 members.

I organized monthly meetups, pug parties, holiday events, and countless opportunities for local dog lovers to connect. As the group grew, members began asking if I could watch their dogs while they traveled.

Before long, Happy Campers Pet Service was born.

A few years ago, I stepped away from the business to care for my senior pug during her final years. She was family, and I wanted to be there for every moment.

After she passed, I took time to heal. Eventually, I realized how much I missed caring for animals and the relationships I had built with both pets and their people.

Today, Happy Campers Pet Service is back, proudly serving Long Beach, Lakewood, and surrounding communities.

Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, pet sitting while you’re away, or caring for your pets like they’re my own, I’m grateful to be doing what I love again.
