Hi, I’m Leah Harmatz, Dana and Harvey’s daughter, and I’m becoming a bat mitzvah this June. For my Mitzvah Project, I decided to focus on my love for animals. A few summers ago, (pre-Covid), I attended camp at SPCALA & had the opportunity to tend to and care for the animals at the shelter. Here I realized that not all animals are treated the same or live in a welcoming home. Through my project, I’m hoping to earn donations (either money, dry/canned food, handmade bandanas for dogs, new toys, non-clumping cat litter, etc.). If you’re confused on what to donate if able, SPCALA has a Amazon Wishlist for accepted donations. For all donations, please write or comment that the donation is for “Leah’s Mitzvah Project.” Donations other than money can be dropped off in a donation box at my house that’ll be made soon. I’m in the process of creating a Venmo to accept money donations. If needed you may send a check/cash in an envelope & mail it/drop it off in our mailbox. These money donations will be used to purchase products for the items listed previously. I know it may be hard to donate during this pandemic.
