One of our fabulous animal behavior students, Callie Knoll, presenting her final project for our applied behavior analysis course (PSY 333).

Her behavioral intervention for the course successfully reduced her dog's barking behavior while Callie worked on her computer. Check out those data!

Congratulations to Emily Knapp ('22), who has recently co-authored a paper through her work in the thirteen-lined ground squirrel lab at U.W. Oshkosh! Emily notes, "This paper is really cool because we created the world's first gene edited thirteen-lined ground squirrel! Our work currently centers around trying to mimic human visual diseases in the thirteen-lined ground squirrel, which is a species of rodent native to Wisconsin that has surprisingly similar vision to humans for a rodent, making them much more useful than the typical mouse or rat. The success of this paper means we will be able to model different visual diseases in the future to learn how they work and how we can cure them."

Well done, Emily!
