Thinking about taking your pet trick-or-treating this Halloween?

Halloween can be a stressful evening for dogs and cats. Costumes, crowds, loud noises, unfamiliar people, and constantly opening the front door can create a lot of excitement, and increase the risk of your pet becoming frightened or escaping.

For many pets, a quiet, comfortable space away from the activity is the safest option. Keep candy and other treats securely out of reach, too, since some common Halloween foods can be dangerous for pets.

If your pet does seem anxious during Halloween, talk with your veterinary team about ways to make the evening more comfortable.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the start of our Pink Paw Program.

What is our Pink Paw Program?
Just as women are encouraged to perform monthly breast self-exams, Dr. Greer wants pet owners to check their female pets. To spread the word, Dr. Greer hosts the Pink Paw Program. She hopes to launch a national campaign in the future, but for now, her clinics are offering a free breast exam for pets if you visited in October, valid for six months afterward if you ever suspect a lump.

Interested? Visit us in October:
1. Our technicians will teach you to check your pet for breast cancer.
2. For the following 6 months, if you suspect breast cancer in your pet, we will do a free breast exam on your pet if you visit us in October.
