One of my first gardening memories is from way back in early childhood. My parents had a vegetable garden in the corner of our backyard. I remember being there to ‘help’ plant the garden in the spring and working in the garden together as a family throughout the summer. I remember the unique little fence that was around the garden to keep rabbits out (it was probably handmade by my dad) but I don’t remember exactly what we all grew in our garden back then- except for chives. I remember their scent and these little purple flowers. And maybe the main reason why I remember them so much is because that was the one plant in our garden that I was allowed to pick any time I wanted and could pick as many as I wanted. As a child at the age of about 5 or 6 that’s a pretty cool thing! Or at least I thought so at the time. 😊 I realized when planning my garden this year that I don’t have any chives. So I decided to buy some seeds and grow my own chives so I can reminisce those early gardening days. ❤️

Happy Sunday! The anemone have finally started to bloom!🤞🏻 Hoping they keep blooming despite the hot weather we’ve been having. ☀️Anemone prefer cooler temperatures and tend to stop growing once temps are consistently above 70 degrees. These have been planted out in the garden since March. I’ll take these blooms any chance I can get because they’re so colorful and beautiful!
