It's a beautiful, windy day here in the hills. Perfect for covering the rescue grounds with horse hair tumbleweeds! As winter transitions to spring, horses go through a process of shedding their thick winter coats to make way for their lighter, sleeker summer coat. Shedding is a sign that warmer weather and longer days are here, but it also means the horses need proper care and attention during this transitional period. From all of us covered in hair here on the ranch we hope you have a blessed Saturday!

It's National Help A Horse Day.

National Help a Horse Day on April 26th each year encourages horse lovers and advocates to join forces and protect abused and neglected horses. The day raises awareness of the need for horse sanctuaries and rescues. In the United States, the horse holds legendary status. Despite that, many go unwanted, abused, or neglected. This day strives to address those issues by drawing attention to several organizations that support horse rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Their programs offer shelter and veterinary care for horses that have been neglected or abused. Many of them provide a sanctuary where the horses live out the remainder of their lives. Once rehabilitated, many of the horses become available for adoption.

Meet Ms Keno Revere, or "Keno" for short! owner surrender for the horses safety, Keno is very low on the totem pole and was being picked on and kicked by her field mates, they wanted to do right by her and see her safe from harm so she will be joining us at the rescue in hopes of finding her another loving home.❤️Currently accepting donations to aid in the costs of vetting, feed, and hay. Hello all! We’re so excited for this upcoming show season! Formerly known as “Hocking County Open Horse Show”, we decided to do a small rebranding! This year we have a tack swap planned, as well as a mini show series and an open show series in the works!

The tack swap is March 23rd from 10-2. Vendor form will be posted in the comments!
