PALS is a 501(c)3 private non-profit, No Kill, animal rescue operating PALS Haven, serving Lodi, and our surrounding communities, working to save the lives of stray and abandoned animals. After many years of volunteering in various capacities at the Lodi Animal Shelter, a dedicated group calling themselves "Shelter Volunteers" applied for non-profit 501(c)(3) status as People Assisting the Lodi An

imal Shelter (PALS). Operating out of a small 700 sq ft building with 8 outdoor kennels, PALS provided 18 years of service to the City of Lodi, and the Lodi Animal Shelter, where we had great success in reducing the number of animals euthanized by the city, and in increasing the number of shelter animals adopted or placed into rescue. Today, we operate a 13,000 sq ft adoption center and sanctuary that we call PALS Haven, an amazing facility that we were able to build completely debt free thanks to the support, and generosity, of our community. And, with your continued support, we can build sustainability for this amazing facility, and continue to serve our community in an even greater capacity, saving the lives of even more stray and abandoned companion animals, for many, many years to come!

This week we're shining the spotlight on the boys...Dave and Benjamin!

The rockstar of the cattery is used to have the spotlight shining on him, but for some reason he hasn't found his forever home...yet! We're hoping that changes, soon, because Dave is everything you'd want in a cat. He's very outgoing, affectionate, and he's sure to bring a smile to your face with his playful antics.

Benjamin, Bennie (or is it Benny?), Bennie Boy, he's got many names...and just needs ONE family. Of course, Benjamin is a special boy, and he's going to need a special family that's going to provide him with the love and structure he needs to be a model K9! Benjamin is extremely smart, very energetic, and he loves to play! His best day would be hanging out with his family, playing fetch in a nice big secure back yard, and going for a nice long walk to burn off some energy! Bennie gets very nervous around other dogs, so he'd need to be an only dog, but he'd be so happy to have a family all to himself!

We're open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, and you do not need an appointment to meet our adoptable animals!

We're just five days away from hosting the SFSPCA Free Vaccine clinic at PALS Haven, but if you haven't scheduled your appointment to have your cat(s) vaccinated, don't worry, you still have time! You can either scan the QR code, or visit the link, listed on the flyer and make your appointment, today!

SFSPCA will be administering Free FVRCP + Rabies Vaccines for San Joaquin County Residents by appointment only - appointments available between 9:00am and 1:00pm. San Joaquin County residents who need their cats vaccinated should schedule their appointments now, as we expect appointments to fill up quickly!

Please note, cats must be handleable - NO FERALS - and must be in carriers to be seen.

This week we're shining the spotlight on Roscoe and Firestar!

What can we say about Roscoe, other than that he's an absolute rockstar that just needs to find his band! Roscoe was found tied up to the swinging gate by the entrance off of Ray & Sargent a few years ago, and though he was a little shy at first, he quickly warmed up and his personality really shone through. He's playful, happy, and gets along well with other dogs - he even helped one of our shyest dogs, Bella, during her meeting with potential adopters, and his steady paws helped calm her and she ended up finding her forever home! Roscoe is an amazing dog, that truly deserves an amazing family to give him lots of love and attention!

Firestar was part of the very first litter born at PALS Haven! He had a very attentive mother, and some very cute and cuddly siblings, and they all got along very well as kittens, but at some point he decided he preferred to fly solo, so he's got his own cat condo, with no roommates! He definitely has an independent side to him, but when he warms up to you, he can be friendly and affectionate!

This week we're shining the spotlight on Liam and Cleopatra!

Liam is a 5 month old kitten that is super playful and affectionate. He was rescued all by himself, no siblings, so he's always connected with the people around him. When he was smaller and you'd hold him in your hands, he'd place both of his paws on your cheeks and nuzzle your nose - cuteness overload! He has an absolute blast playing with other other kittens, but he's also very people oriented, so we think he'll do well with other cats with similar energy, or as a solo cat with a human that's going to spoil him with love and attention.

Cleopatra is a sweet girl with lots of love to share, but she's a little timid at first and may take time to warm up to new people that come out to meet her. She's worth the extra effort. She's a sweetheart that just wants to feel safe and loved, and in the right environment, she'll have the chance to blossom and become your loyal companion. Cleopatra would do best in a quieter home, but she may do well with a canine friend with similar energy.

We are very excited to share that PALS Haven will be hosting a SFSPCA Free Cat Vaccine Clinic on Saturday, August 30, from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

We’re out here at Raising Cane’s on Kettleman, raising money for PALS Haven!

Rusty stopped by for a visit while it was cooler, and he made sure we took a picture of him in front of the original Cane’s banner!

If you’re looking for a quick and delicious after school snack for the kids, or dinner for the family, come on out to Cane’s and help support our mission to save the lives of stray, abandoned, and relinquished animals in our communities! All you have to do is mention “PALS Haven” when placing your order at the counter or drive-thru, and Cane’s donates 15% of the net sales to us!

Schools back in session, and the days seem to have gotten busier - and shorter - so we've got the perfect answer for your mid-week question of "What's for dinner?" with a win-win meal that's quick, delicious, and helps support PALS Haven!

We'll be out at Raising Cane's this Wednesday, August 6, from 11:30am to 6:00pm raising money for PALS Haven, and bringing awareness to our efforts to save the lives of stray, abandoned, and relinquished animals in our community!

All you have to do to support our cause is mention "PALS Haven" at the drive-thru or counter when you place your order, and Raising Cane's will donate 15% of net sales to PALS Haven!
